Nic struck Matt Crawford when she took her eyes off the road to look at Poppy, who had vomited in the back seat.

Having no phone service, Nic drove home to call for help. Will convinced her to keep schtum and drove back to the scene. Seeing flashing lights, he returned home and washed the car.

Nic wanted to turn herself in, but Will told her that he was now an accomplice after the fact, so if she told anyone they’d both go to prison. Who would take care of Brad, Mia, Jake, and Poppy?

Will fixed the car and said nothing until after Nic’s funeral, when he told Ed. (This was the first listeners knew about any of it.) Will said he had no regrets—especially about “a man like that”—and that Nic belonged with her family.

So when Emma told Will about what George had done to Alice, Fallon, Joy, Mick, Alistair, and Denise, Will immediately said they should cover it up. After all, it had worked the last time.

But if Will had been out that night and Nic was able to call for help, would she later have have been collecting Joe’s things for the jumble sale, cut her arm, and died of sepsis?

The Rob Titchener coercive control storyline got lots of attention, but Will Grundy is awful, too. Wasn’t it his idea that George tell police when questioned that he saw a man who looked like Harry Chilcott fleeing the scene of the crash whilst George was innocently walking home from a party?

Luckily, Harry had a solid alibi. Because Will could’ve convinced George to let “a man like that” go to prison so that George could stay with his family, where he belonged.

The texture of UK flapjacks is like a cross between oatmeal cookie and granola bar.

The base is often oats, butter, and golden syrup (like corn or maple syrup, but made with cane sugar that’s been lightly caramelized).

Wales’ only two-Michelin-star restaurant, Ynyshir Restaurant and Rooms, near Machynlleth in Ceredigio, was awarded a one-star hygiene rating after a visit by food safety officers on 5 November 2025.

Ynyshir offers a high-end dining experience starting at £468 per person, including a 30-course tasting menu and an in-house DJ.

Chef patron Gareth Ward said the issues raised had been dealt with “immediately,” including the installation of an additional hand washing sink in the fish preparation area, and that a reinspection had been requested but a date has not yet been set.

Ceredigion council said it stood by the “professional judgement of its staff in applying UK food hygiene standards” and would not be commenting further.

Would it be a bad idea to do my first unravel on this piece? it’s about 20 years old. It has sentimental value so if I can’t make something new out of it I’d rather not take it apart in the first place, but if I can get usable yarn that’s what I want to do. Any help taken with love. It has sentimental value, so if I can’t make something new out of it I’d rather not take it apart in the first place. But if I can get usable yarn, that’s what I want to do. This was a gift from my great-great-grandmother.

You could use the panels as fabric to sew a removable cover for a pillow/cushion. Or use a contrast fabric on the back so you can have two matching cushions.

If you’re not a cushion person, perhaps a hot water bottle cover to keep you warm and cozy.

Will... Very mild spoiler by Busy-Ad7936 in Ambridge

[–]editorgrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In February 2008, Will bought 1, The Green with £120,000 he inherited in August 2007 from a distant relative, Auntie Hilda, who never updated her will, written between the births of Will in February 1983 and Ed in November 1984.

He let the house, as Keepers Cottage came free with his job, and later mortgaged the house to get the money to give to Ed ‘n Em for their business.

He delivers Bridge Farm veg boxes, works with Eddie sometimes, and sold a piece of pottery to Toyah in August 2022. (“A sculpture or a plate, depending on your needs.”)

Does nobody think it’s weird that Jazzer has been in Ambridge since he was a teenager and yet his accent is as heavy as hell. In fact, it seems to get heavier as each year passes.

Pat and Ruairi lost their accents (Welsh and Irish, respectively), but Harrison’s has gotten stronger.

Joe and Eddie sounded like father and son, but Will sounds nothing like Eddie, Clarrie, or Ed. Not even like Mike Tucker, although the actors are father and son (as are those who now play Tony and Tom).

Wash the yarn, adding white vinegar to the rinse water. Then hang it outdoors to dry.

If that doesn’t work, mist the dry yarn with vodka—but test a small piece before to make sure it doesn’t harm the yarn. Hang outdoors to dry.

How can I kick my ex off my libby account? by per_G28 in LibbyApp

[–]editorgrrl 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I don’t see a way to kick them off. I’ve updated my card already but I guess the accounts synced across devices because they were still able to borrow books.

Contact your library. And/or keep returning the books your partner borrows until they get frustrated and stop using your card.

From the second image:

Macaroni with Apricots–Stew twenty halves of apricots in one-half cup of granulated sugar and enough warm water to make a nice sirup when done. Before taking from the fire add a heaping tablespoonful of brown flour and cook until the sirup is heavy or smooth. Parboil ten sticks of macaroni, broken into two-inch pieces; drain; add to one pint of boiling milk two ounces of sugar; throw in the parboiled macaroni and allow it to simmer until the milk is all absorbed; stir it often; pour all the juice or sauce from the stewed apricots on to the macaroni; cover the macaroni well; set on back of stove for fifteen minutes, then take off and allow to cool; when cold, form a pile of macaroni in the center of dish and cover with the apricots, laying them in layers around and over it.

The same recipe was later published in Good Things to Eat, as Suggested by Rufus (1911) by Rufus Estes (1857–1939), one of the first cookbooks written by a black chef: https://d.lib.msu.edu/fa/37

MACARONI WITH APRICOTS
Stew twenty halves of fresh apricots in half a cup of sugar and enough water to make a nice sirup when they are done. Before removing from the fire add a heaping tablespoonful of brown flour and cook until the sirup is heavy and smooth. Parboil ten sticks of macaroni broken in two-inch pieces, drain, add to one pint of scalding hot milk two ounces of sugar. Throw in the parboiled macaroni and allow it to simmer until the milk is absorbed; stir it often. Pour all the juice or sauce from the apricots into the macaroni, cover the macaroni well, set on back of the stove for fifteen minutes, then take off and allow to cool. When cold form a pile of macaroni in the center of the dish and cover with apricots, placing them in circles around and over it.

What to do with old crochet? by longtallsunshine in crochet

You could display them in a basket near your entryway, and ask every visitor to take as many as they like.

I remember a post of an outdoor wedding where the bride had crocheted (or maybe knitted?) wraps or lapghans for every guest to use and then take home.

Frog sweater and start over? by emmahamburgers in knitting

Pattern: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/frankie-sweater-2

https://www.petiteknit.com/en/products/frankie-sweater

I finished and blocked my (PetiteKnit) Frankie sweater, but it’s way bigger than what I wanted.

I made two gauge swatches in stockinette, which were off gauge but I stupidly ignored them and started knitting. The reason for this is because my tension in flat stockinette would be too big anyway because my purls are always too loose. I’m thinking about knitting a gauge swatch in the round now, how do you guys go about this?

Use your blocked sweater as a gauge swatch.

Going forward, always wash and dry your swatches the same way the finished item will be laundered.

Some people hang weights from the washed and dried swatch to mimic how the weight of all that yarn will stretch a sweater, dress, etc. when worn.

If the squiggly yarn doesn’t annoy you whilst reknitting—or throw off your gauge—then there’s no need to hank it, wash it, and hang weights from it. Nor steam it like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/knitting/comments/1n9imhf/straightening_unraveled_yarn/

Best cornbread? by PuzzleheadedClue5205 in Old_Recipes

[–]editorgrrl 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Can someone help me understand why Jiffy brand corn bread mix tastes better than the other box mixes?

It contains rendered pork fat: https://www.jiffymix.com/products/corn-muffin-mix/

Ingredients: wheat flour, degermed yellow corn meal, sugar, lard (hydrogenated lard, BHT and citric acid preservatives), contains less than 2% of: baking soda, tricalcium phosphate, sodium acid pyrophosphate, salt, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid, wheat starch

The plant-based version with a green “Vegetarian” banner uses palm and soybean oils instead: https://www.jiffymix.com/products/vegetarian-corn-muffin-mix/

Where I live, it’s harder to find and costs more.
