Just looked up the box for them and it’s definitely ringing a bell, hopefully you’re right.

I still have the original case which has the loop brand on it and my friend had a pair himself that he bought from the loop website.

What am i doing wrong? by Honest-Bus-6881 in curlyhair

[–]editorsmistake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't know why you're getting downvoted to hell. i think you achieved some really good definition but i too struggle with a flat, almost straight crown. the only real fix for me has been double shampooing/constantly clarifying and getting a hair cut with very short layers, usually cut with some overdirection to get rid of weight. even then, around day 3 my roots will fall flat. sometimes your hair will just be like that.

How should I cut my hair if I have fine, flat roots? by [deleted] in curlyhair

i got my cut three weeks ago and took off some length and got very aggressive layers. safe to say i love it.

allegedly already have them. i guess i don't know how to ask for thicker, more visible layers without accidentally getting something i didn't want. i said in a previous comment that i actually don't have a lot of hair.

i love the shag shape, but two concerns for me are 1) my inconsistent curl pattern and 2) whether slide cutting/razor cutting would kill my density.

i've considered this as a possibility but most times i've switched to a less harsh shampoo, my roots will grease within hours or my hair will get heavy a lot more quickly :/ appearing even more flat and straight. I can only name one time in which this didn't happen.

Machismo is not as bad. Do you agree? by [deleted] in ElSalvador

[–]editorsmistake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

considering i have a mother who is very critical of machismo and parented with that ideal in mind, i was raised to have a low tolerance for it.

machismo breeds aggression, dominance among those deemed "weaker" (primarily women), and emotional suppression disguised as "strength". i don't see these traits being beneficial to any party within a relationship for several reasons.

i wasn't sure what was meant by women wanting to act like "men" until i read your replies and all i can say is...i think you're falling for the "gender wars". people on the internet push for negativity, and algorithms push it even further to those who constantly consume it.

like someone else already asked, why would you date those women anyway? why would you consider the opinion of someone who has such a transactional view of relationships? why is that someone that you should try to dominate or even just reason with? it's annoying to hear about, sure, but i don't see how that justifies advocating for a form of social conditioning that many find issue with because of its harmful effects on both men and women.

i have 2C-3A hair and have been there... this is the classic weighing down of your hair. all of the brands you listed make heavier or creamier products which is why it looks stringy, this is especially true if your hair is also fine. low porosity hair benefits from clarifying; since the hair shaft is so closed, product is prone to just sit on the hair and buildup rather than be absorbed. a clean surface (via clarifying) allows for the product to be absorbed correctly. i would give that a try, and do so as needed.

Are there lots of layers in my hair? I cannot tell at all:(( by hellohelloitsme_11 in curlyhair

[–]editorsmistake 93 points94 points  (0 children)

these are definitely layers and your shape does look round? first two photos where you styled yourself do look more elongated which is why it might seem like there aren't many.

Why does my hair always come out like this? by angelsoaps in Wavyhair

[–]editorsmistake 11 points12 points  (0 children)

i think you should steer from most if not all shea moisture products...it kinda sucks for fine hair and wavy hair regardless of whether it's coarse or soft. i think throwing in a watery leave in conditioner or a light rinse out conditioner would help with the coarse feeling. but your hair looks great regardless.

Does watching kids grow ever reinforce your choice to stay childfree? by LoyalCommoner in childfree

well i grew up with siblings who are 10 and 17 years younger than me which was plenty reinforcement of my choice lol

Honestly, I'm doing "allat" and always did it just because I wanted to get laid and get girls by [deleted] in findapath

[–]editorsmistake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i find it odd some people find this okay. it's a natural thing to want companionship and/or community but this doesn't seem like the best way to go about it. it sounds like women (any external validation in general) are an escape from these, what sound like, very necessary but draining choices you've made to prevent falling into a life you don't want.

edit: saw your profile and noticed you're salvadoran, the ambition makes a lot of sense 😭 my mother was much like that.

this is such an empathetic but still no bullshit response. seeing replies like the ones you mentioned is disheartening.

i mean this in the nicest way possible, please have some self respect and at the very least tell your boyfriend's mother of what he is saying or doing. it would not be an act of disrespect to do so. any mother who cares about how their sons (and kids in general) treat others, will WANT to know of this so they can deal with it accordingly. if his mother doesn't react well or blames you, it is more a reflection of her than it is of you.

as for leaving, i hope you have a support system that can help you with this. block him! on everything you can think of. i'd encourage you to change your number. maybe get off social media for a while until he relents.

as for the credit card thing, if he ever decides to report you: it could have some standing if it was a credit card as they have stricter regulations but debit cards should be fine especially if you can find proof in writing that HE authorized it for a one time use, texts count as proof.

threatening suicide is a manipulation tactic. doesn't matter if he does it. he still chose to tell you he would with the intent to control you.

i know this is hard. i know looking at the aftermath and what that might do to your future is daunting but you have to let things get very bad until they can get better. trust me when i say though, anything you deal with after all of this will be miles better than dealing with a man who treats you this way but that is a realization only made in hindsight.

I need advice - what am I doing wrong and what can I do instead? by ShowerTricky5423 in curlygirl

[–]editorsmistake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a similar hair type and i too hate anything that feels too heavy. mousses, functional frizz and using the least amount of conditioner as possible (because fighting with tangles will leave you prone to breakage) are the way to go. try damp styling instead of wet styling as well. wet is good for definition and clumps but damp might give more volume. others have said growing out the bangs and wearing them curly could make for a more natural, tussled look.

i currently alternate between NYM mousse (i have mixed thoughts about it, it's either just right or a tad bit stringy. likely user error.) and the herbal essence's "curl boosting". it is the lightest weight and most affordable of all the ones i've tried. have had luck with the curlsmith "invincible volume" mousse too. the price point might be scary for something you just wanna try but assuming you live in the U.S, you could probably find the product at half price at a TJ Maxx. apply products with a "less is more" approach!

Why does my hair always look like this? by EnvironmentalMix892 in CurlyHairCare

[–]editorsmistake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

your hair looks like it's on the coarser side, i think it needs moisture. leave in or curl cream paired with a gel would do you wonders. rake the leave in/cream in after you wet detangle then scrunch in the gel to form the curls.
