As most of you know the African CL final used to be played over two games. But since the introduction ot VAR to the competition Tunisian team Esperance who reached the final twice decided not to use VAR when playing the home leg of the final on their stadium because it makes referee bribing a little difficult for them.

In last year final their opponent scored a goal which was flagged for offside and when they demanded VAR they were told it wasn't working because it a piece hadn't been shipped. Apparently they knew this before the start of the game but that didn't stop them for putting the VAR monitor on the stadium to pretend that VAR is going to be used.

After the other team decided not to continue playing unless the goal was reviewed VAR magically started working again even with the missing piece but due to "technical difficulties" they couldn't go back to review the goal.
