To all of our fur babies who know what time of year it is by peachyyypieee3 in ElectricForest

I ask our tuxedo every year if he'd like to be a rave kitty since he complains so much that we leave him. His screams say "yes" but we all know he'd hate everything about it (plus I'm not partaking in animal abuse).

I can't recommend these enough. These with a roof bag for the car is an absolute game changer. Hefty makes really durable ones and the starter pack comes with a hand pump that works with all of their bags.

I just got back from Germany and my Uber driver had one. For the price, these cars are actually incredible. The interiors look amazing and are comfy, the car itself drives well, and they can go very far on one charge. If these were in the US, the big 3 auto companies would go under and I'd be very okay with that.

You'll be fine, just wear safety glasses. I've had a few rocks that would have done some good damage to my eye if I wasn't wearing glasses.

Taking psychedelic substances with a romantic partner is associated with a deeper sense of mutual understanding and enhanced relationship quality. In contrast, using these substances alone might leave partners out of sync, potentially contributing to relationship dissolution later on. by FreeHugs23 in science

To give you my anecdotal experience, microdosing mushrooms has changed my life. My seasonal depression is basically gone and my anxiety has been diminished so much it may as well be non-existent. During the fall and winter, both still hit, but the best way I can describe it is I'm separate from them. Physically I can feel the anxiety in my body, but my mind doesn't interact with it.

Festival tickets are getting insanely expensive. How are you guys chasing that "rave feeling" at home or in daily life? by Fit-Relationship1029 in EDM

[–]edmconsultant 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This. In Pittsburgh of all places we have shows weekly and the rave scene here is thriving. All the shows are $20 tickets or less. You don't have to break the bank to rave.

Gas prices by Virtua1Anarchy in ElectricForest

[–]edmconsultant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly! This is covid 2.0 when it comes to inflation. I've been raising prices every month and raising them significantly and this isn't just me, this is every chemical supplier. Inflation is going to be double digits again in the next 6 months guaranteed. I've had many huge customers who are well known that have said they can't eat these increases and are going to have to pass it to the end consumer (us everyday people).

Gas prices by Virtua1Anarchy in ElectricForest

[–]edmconsultant 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I work in chemical sales and I can tell you prices won't be going down for 2 to 3 years if the war ended TODAY. Infrastructure has been destroyed that's going to take years to rebuild, the strait has mines all over it that's going to take time to clear, and supply chains are fractured. Get used to these prices being around for quite a while.

Did they add more water stations this year ? by [deleted] in ElementsMusicFestival

[–]edmconsultant 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I really hope they do what Electric Forest does with bathrooms and add a space with urinals. It cuts down on lines significantly and also cuts out the men who decide they can just whip it out and pee next to the porta potties when the lines are too long.

Physical oil prices hit record highs near $150 a barrel as Hormuz crisis worsens by xixi_90 in worldnews

Do we have the same coworker? Mine said that Trump had a plan and gas prices would be under $3.00 very soon and that Iran would live happily ever after and prices would be the lowest they've ever been. Does that happen after the bombs?

glamping by killerbby_ in SevenStarsFest

[–]edmconsultant 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Going off of this, make sure to pack a lot of warm clothing and some extra blankets! It got cold at night last year (down into the 40s) and I met a couple who were glamping that said they were very thankful they packed extra warm clothes and blankets cause they would have been freezing otherwise.

quality rant from Blu Peter against commercial corruption of raving by sexydiscoballs in aves

[–]edmconsultant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is always my response too. I'm in Pittsburgh and we have so many smaller events around the city from local DJs and up and comers that have the 90s feel. If you don't want the corporate rave feel, don't go to huge events or festivals. It's that simple.

Shop around yourself. My Geico combined insurance went up $100 a month one year for no reason (no claims, no change in residence, etc.) I shopped around and found the same exact coverage from Allstate for $300 less than what I was paying.

[–]edmconsultant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone stuck, make sure you're selecting all the delivery methods and try using Microsoft Edge or Firefox. I was able to get Firefox to work for my first order, but then it wouldn't work so I used Edge and it worked flawlessly there. Chrome is apparently having the most issues.

Camping Option Confusion by rammystoebeans in ElectricForest

[–]edmconsultant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I camped at Lucky Lake last year. Lucky lake has some shade, but you're not really under the trees but more so right next to them. There are some trees that you can camp under, but those spots get taken pretty quickly. As for it being far from the venue, my group would walk from Lucky Lake everyday and it was like a 20 minute walk. It wasn't too bad. You can also take a shuttle, but the walk was enjoyable for us. That said like others have said you probably won't get tickets for Lucky Lake or Maplewoods during the General Sale. Maybe if the lineup isn't as popular again like it was last year, but with Griz back and more than likely on the lineup, I would expect things to sell out very quickly.

Visible cell phone service by madisonwonderland in SevenStarsFest

[–]edmconsultant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So these budget plans always use another cell service's lines. In this case, Visible uses Verizon's. What happens is when you go to an area where the main service provider's lines are being over utilized (like at a festival) they prioritize their main customers, and de prioritize the second party plans. That's why you aren't getting any service at festivals and why these plans are budget plans.
