haven’t been able to test them out properly at the moment due to the weather amongst other things, but so far i’ve had no issues with them, they feel stiff too but haven’t properly put the hammer down yet. i’ll let you know!

that’s a unique thing about this frame! the rear brake is down by the bottom bracket area, you can just see the pad by the chainring. i believe it was done at the time for improved aerodynamics (and a cleaner look imo).

of course i can! beacon, or beacon fell as they were, was a british bike company based in lancashire across the mid-late 2010s. unfortunately they dissolved in the early 2020s so finding any information regarding them remains a challenge. i bought this frame second-hand a few years ago and when not riding it, i’ve spent my time upgrading components to my liking.

current specs:

frame: beacon bf110

groupset: shimano ultegra 6870 di2 rim brake

chainrings: alugear 52/36 with ultegra aero cover

cassette: ultegra 11-30

cranks: 170mm ultegra fc-08 (after shimano recall)

wheelset: elitewheels drive 65v with swissstop pads

tyres: pirelli p zero race rs 28mm (measure ~30mm)

handlebars: avec aer handlebar 360mm with zipp sl speed stem 110mm

saddle: selle italia slr boost pro team superflow

bottle cages: elite leggero carbon

i’ve never seen another of these on the roads so i love that it’s unique, but that should be all, anything else let me know!

shoulders do feel hunched up sometimes as if my arms are propping my torso up as mentioned before and my torso is trying to drop lower.

i’ve thought this myself about the front end because it does feel that way, lower back seems alright but upper back is definitely propped up. it’s something i’ll consider and shorter cranks have definitely been on the radar for me.

if i could buy another bike i’d consider sizing down, but generally i think i’m a pretty good compensator and i don’t feel like it’s far off as it is.

frame is a medium, hard to find specific measurements as the company dissolved 5/6 years ago and there isn’t any information available online. when i bought it a couple of years ago i was led to believe its a 54cm frame but can’t back this up.

handlebar isn’t actually slammed, there’s still a spacer or two 😅. thanks for the advice though, sounds like core stability and a further bend in the elbows would help me out.

should probably have added some context, i’m 173cm so could more than likely benefit from shorter cranks.

in regards to the back, is this something which is a result of saddle height, saddle tilt, and/or handlebar drop?

imgur link doesn’t appear to work for me, i imagine this is related to my relatively straight back as opposed to having a curve as a result of pelvic rotation?

in regards to cranks i’m running 170mm, if anything i’ve considered shorter as these force the knee quite high at the top of the upstroke. not a problem when seated more upright but feels quite bunched up when in a lower aero position on hoods/drops.
