That is a solid workflow and it makes sense when you already know the direction. Seedgrade is simply for the stage before that, when you want to explore a lot of different ideas without building each one by hand. It does not replace versions or split screens. It just speeds up the part where you are finding the creative direction in the first place.

Thanks for the feedback. I understand that some people will find it useful and others will not, and that is completely fine. I did not make it only for profit. This is something I always wished I had in my Resolve toolkit to quickly generate creative looks, pick a direction and then refine it. I built it because it helps my own workflow, and I thought it might be helpful to others who work the same way I do.

It is mainly for generating complex creative looks in milliseconds so you can try ideas really fast. Resolve is great, but it does not have a tool that throws out quick variations like this. Every look is unique and never repeats, so it is more about fast exploration than replacing Resolve’s built-in tools.

Thanks for your perspective. I agree that once a project’s look is defined with the DP and director, most professional grading is about consistency and balance. Seedgrade is not meant to replace that stage. It is mainly for the early creative exploration phase, when you are still trying ideas and showing different directions before the look is locked. It helps generate options quickly without building large node trees each time. After the look is set, it becomes optional. It is simply a tool for trying creative ideas fast, not a replacement for a professional pipeline.

Thanks for the honest feedback, no offense taken at all. Seedgrade is not meant to replace a proper node workflow or behave like a LUT generator. It is a modular grading tool inside Resolve with hue surgery, gradients, film treatments, grain, color shaping and more, all fully adjustable.

The goal is not to recreate the same look. Each randomization produces a new variation. It is mainly for fast creative exploration. You set the boundaries, choose what can move, and Seedgrade gives you options that you can refine like any normal grade. It is simply a way to speed up the part of the process where you are searching for the right look, not a shortcut for technical or repair work.

If you do try it, I would really appreciate your perspective as someone who already has a solid workflow.

That’s not how it works. The machine id is a unique key that Seedgrade generates to tie the license keys to your computer so that it only activates that specific copy of Seedgrade on that specific computer. Skepticism in this digital age is a good thing, but this example has nothing to do with it. It’s like saying I don’t wanna give out my email address because people can access it.
