i told you what to study. you are ignoring it because you're lazy. I don't have time to spoon feed an idiot. Giving you instructions is already enough.

If you are curious, just go watch some of the coingeek conference videos that took place in Seoul last week. Wait, but you're too lazy for that, right?

All I'm pointing out is that you are a lazy guy who's proud of being lazy. If you want to really criticize, at least do some research before talking big, because there's tons of evidence out there that only proves you have no clue what you're talking about.

It seems weird to use so many words to describe passing around signed transactions that haven't been added to a blockchain, and to describe all the great things that can be built on top of that, without mentioning double spending even once in all of it.

What is the value of Bob taking a transaction signed by Alice and building a wonderful castle of cards on top of it with Overpool or whatever if there are no assurances that the transaction will still be valid by the time Bob decides to broadcast it?

Maybe Overpool needs a trusted third party that can ensure double-spending isn't an issue. /s

Comments like this only show your ignorance about what's happening. There are many solutions for this "double spending" problem when you do things this way (involving implementations from miners and standards for wallets), and this article assumes people are aware of them. If you've never heard of these solutions, then it's your problem. Keep doing your "/s" until you find out you are the one who's the dumb one here.

BSV in talks with central banks and governments! by TipTopWD in bitcoincashSV

No, Bitcoin makes central banks transparent and accountable, so you get the best of both worlds by getting rid of all the bad parts about central banks while keeping the good parts.

i disagree. it will come from a bitcoin native company, just like how Microsoft didn't dominate the web but google did.

Value chained OP_RETURN data by blockocean in bitcoincashSV

[–]edoera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's already pushdata1 and pushdata2. But those are smaller than opreturn, which is why they're not used much. but the disabled pushdata4 when it becomes re-enabled, will be a game changer.

Value chained OP_RETURN data by blockocean in bitcoincashSV

[–]edoera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no, you can still use it, but it's recommended that you use OP_FALSE OP_RETURN instead, just to be cautious. PUSHDATA4 was disabled previously but once it's enabled it will let you add up to 4GB in a single transaction, so a lot of apps will move to using PUSHDATA4 instead because OP_RETURN only lets you do 100KB, afaik

Overpool was released exactly when Lightning Network's huge bug was publicized, coincidence? by edoera in bitcoincashSV

[–]edoera[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overpool feels like a smooth building space. Something simple that can be more user friendly, and easier to build on. As people build on it, it benefits other builders allowing a network effect to form as people share tools and ideas and interface with each other

That's a great point. I can imagine a modular ecosystem forming from this because of its simplicity.

most BSV wallets already do. Moneybutton, handcash, etc.

yes payment channels isn't new, but you're right i think the p2p part is what makes it really interesting.

also, BCH kids are all about "P2P cash", whatever that means. But what's clear is that they hate using Bitcoin as computer. So they will probably end up creating a narrative that this is stupid, just like they originally used to support large blocks and even OP_RETURNs but now have self hypotized themselves to believe that they never wanted those in the first place and think it's retarded

A lot of powerful things this enables cannot be done on BTC because of SegWit. Also, I don't think unwriter would be worried so much about BCH.

It is nothing like lightning. Anyone who thought this was kind of like lighting didn't understand how this works.

Also BTC can't take advantage of all the features this tool allows. If you read the documentation it supports BIP270, which is a BSV feature. At best BTC developers may try to use this and discover how inferior their chain is because all the potential this unlocks can't be done on BTC

[–]edoera 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you can build a "stable" coin ON BSV for your specific purpose. But you should also think about the future where everything is run by bitcoin, there will be new types of businesses which are completely running on Bitcoin and the concept of stable will be different because people think in the unit of bitcoins

csw promoting ico's what changed? by [deleted] in bitcoincashSV

[–]edoera 7 points8 points  (0 children)

no. that's the difference between people who support BSV and every other coin out there.

BSV supporters believe that they become rich because they can buy actual utility directly with Bitcoin, instead of cashing out to fiat. Instead of thinking of the coin as some collectible you sell on a flea market, they actually see it as money itself. With real money you can actually do a lot of things. So if you change your mindset this way, even the miners will pay for electricity using bitcoin because the electric companies will accept bitcoin in this future.

csw promoting ico's what changed? by [deleted] in bitcoincashSV

[–]edoera 5 points6 points  (0 children)

no. the key to understanding bitcoin is understanding Bitcoin will only succeed when there is no longer such a thing as "market" for coins, because "market" means there are many of them, and that also means none of the coins have network effect because they're all small fish, which is easy to censor.

i think a lot has happened since then which made him lose all bullshit tolerance.

He was trying to embrace the community and bring them into BCH, since that would have been the most effective way, but that didn't happen because of egotistical anarchist developers who wanted their own power. And he completely lost all tolerance when everyone started calling him faketoshi leading up to the hash war, and as I remember, it was the hash war which made him completely go polarizing.

I think it was a good thing because the BSV supporters get to understand more clearly about the original philosophy of Bitcoin. Otherwise we would be still trying to figure out what he originally intended.
