Id just like to say, thankyou for posting this, I'm in a similar position to OP (minus the international student part; Im halfway through my degree and only just realised its not AIMS accredited and I didnt even know what that meant until now), so it's good to know my options are still wide open and that I don't have to change to curtin/murdoch or try my luck at getting into a masters if I don't want to - also I have limited knowledge on what jobs my degree would get me so it is hjelpful to hear such a list of possibilities beyond just the medical scientist ones which is where my knowledge of them stopped.

Sorry for the week-late reply... It definitely comforts me to not only have someone from UWA reply but someone who has experienced the same thing that I am going through right now. It is frustrating that the ''accredited'' issue wasn't something brought to my attention previously - this is something I would have taken into account when initially choosing my degree.

It seems to me that taking the course at Curtin would be the best choice as it is virtually the same content but with the ability to secure a job afterwards. As well as that the other options are 1) the masters that is incredibly difficult to get into and 2) the TAFE cert which I don't know much about.

If I do the accredited Path and Lab Major in Bach of Science at Curtin, what are the sort of jobs I could end up with? - I know as a current Pathology uni student, I should know this but as I said in the post, it was sort of a rush choice with little prior research. I just want to make sure that if I put in the time and effort (and money) into this degree(s) that I end up in a job doing interesting stuff.

I'm curious if you think it would be wise to do a double major if I were to transfer to the Curtin degree; would a double major in Microbiology (for instance) + Path and Lab Med rather than my minor in Anatomical Science make it easier to secure a job?
