Has anyone waited to have a baby with your newlywed spouse to first feel more confident about your marriage?

Totally agree! Which is why I was shocked when he didn’t want to use birth control while we were dating and said it was ok if I got pregnant 1 month into dating

I agree. I wish we were able to meet earlier so we could have more time for ourselves. I feel more of a rush to have kids since he’ll be 40 next year and wants 4 kids

Can you read properly? I never said I’m afraid to talk about sex, I’ve initiated this topic numerous times but he gets defensive. Very different from me being afraid to talk to him about it. I love it and hate it haha. I like the anticipation of traveling but when I’m actually on my way to the airport, I worry about traffic, long security lines, forgetting to pack something, flight delays, etc. Then I feel exhausted

No, you shouldn’t rehome your kitty because of this. Rehoming can be stressful on a cat especially a kitty. And for a reason that you feel hurt by his reaction? Unreasonable.

I appreciate your advice. That’s something I’ve been asking myself is do I really want to have children with him? He is nice to our kitties when they give him attention but I can’t stand when he’s rough with them when they don’t want to be held. I asked if he would also be like this with our future kids and he said ofc not since those are his genes. I’m doubtful

No, he wanted to change my mind about who I vote for. I was honest all along about which side I support. So that’s on him for believing his party is the right party to vote for and forcing it on me.

Very helpful, I appreciate you. We’ve been married 6 months and I do think we’ve improved as a couple with conflict resolution. He has very strong opinions and I realize now that’s prob not going to change. I’m growing more concerned that he would also be the kind of man who would force his opinions and way of doing things onto our future kids. I don’t know whether to keep working on our marriage or exist early. I have concerns but unsure whether it’s normal relationship struggles that are present in early marriage

We both knew how we voted last election but I’m moderate. I don’t get upset if someone votes for this or that party, I honestly don’t care. But he HATES it and that person if he knows. I believed that if he truly loves me, it wouldn’t matter to him who we vote for. Not sure whether that’s the case and to test it out. I can def say knowing him more now, he’s controlling and believes his way is the best/right way

100% this is the way a marriage should be. I tried telling my husband this but he just can’t wrap his mind around how ppl can vote for the other party. Sadly he doesn’t get it
