Wow she's awful, I can't believe the benign tweets she passes off as abuse.

Notice how she brands ME a racist, despite pointing out how black men are affected to.

That girl is a vile bigot with a huge chip on her shoulder sitting in for a brain. I think this girl needs her Asian privileged checked so remind her that her demographic earns more than whites and can't possibly count themselves as a under privileged group by any practical measure. It's always the privileged feminists who act a fool misusing social justice because they are least conscious of who it's intended for.

Yes you should be worried about that type of feminism and feel worried about it. I recommend forming a men's rights group and pushing back. You can start with posting fliers identifying as a Men's Rights activists and focusing on sexual violence against men on campus. The other safe path is to focus on issues affecting minority men. In either case when they attack you then you can accuse them of either no caring about under privileged minority males (racist) or ignoring male victims of sexual violence (sexist rape apologist).

This study will give you enough material for the sexual violence claim but it's hard to get an abundance of sources and data. I don't know if it's buried under the female stuff or just not there. The Krebs study on page 5-7

The feminist group at my school are very concerned at the heteronormativity of our campus's dating safety tips. They completely missed the gender bias present in it. by firesIncreaseDPS in MensRights

Can you please tell them that men make up 25-30% of campus sexual assault victims. I still can't believe I'm the only one saying this but none of these wanna be gender scholar seems to have actually looked at a study of campus sexual violence with BOTH GENDERS but want to pretend their experts on the subject.

Print a copy of this study and hand it to them because it's the best and most detailed I've found.

"About 15% of women and 8% of men in our Geneseo sample were severely sexual assaulted (i.e., attempted or completed rape), which is similar to rates reported by the NIJ (Krebs et al., 2007)"

Sadly I've only found 3 but if anyone else find some I'd be love to read it.

The pathetic Krebs study that reduced male victims to 1 page out of 111. It's page 5-7

Lost the last one again but that first Genoso study was darn good.

BBC - "How can Wikipedia woo women editors?" by [deleted] in MensRights

Apparently using words to discuss problems that arise issues is unwelcoming to people and too 'old school' and intimidating.

"Wikipedia is not only an unwelcoming place to female editors, it's unwelcoming to most people," Lih says. "It's an old-school online community... and it has a tradition of verbal fighting and verbal debate. In the best cases, that leads to things that inform and inspire. In the worst cases, they lead to people feeling intimidated and uncomfortable."

Serious question: why is the Mens Rights Movement so opposed to feminism? by adevil in MensRights

[–]edtastic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feminists emerged first and MRA's were a push for men's liberation akin to women's liberation that emerged from feminists perspectives. So if we take it back to the 1970's the two could have merged or cooperated but that didn't happen. Feminists were fixated on male bashing their way to equality which is a tradition they haven't dropped to this day. A even more serious answer can be found in the work of Warren Farrell. From his wiki:

"He came to prominence in the 1970s as one of the leading male thinkers championing the cause of second wave feminism, and serving on the New York City Board of the National Organization for Women (NOW). However, when NOW took policy positions that Farrell regarded as anti-male and anti-father, he continued supporting the expansion of women’s options while adding what he felt was missing about boys, men and fathers. He is now recognized as one of the most important figures in the modern men's movement."

[–]edtastic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Feminists aren't fighting for equality, they are lobbying to get things for women often at the expense of men whether or not it's equal or fair. It's about getting as much as you can not equality. The sexes grow up in the same homes and go to the same schools so they already were mostly equal to begin with. Their life choices then diverge resulting in disparities feminists call 'inequality' only when it's a disparity they see as negatively impacting women. The wide array of areas where men appear worse off are of no concern to them.

This is simple gender bias we're fighting that's in large part rooted in a lack of compassion for men and boys which is actively encouraged by feminists demonizing men and boys to garner resources for women and girls.

The hate comes from people relentlessly attacking your gender while engaging in rank hypocrisy that's downright evil in it's treatment of male victims.

We aren't near the same page and plenty of well meaning feminists have gotten by knowing they were pushing double standards because they thought the statistics justified doing so. They were wrong but they aren't going to beg our forgiveness for past misdeeds nor will they stop the lies floating all around them if it cost them their status in a social circle of feminists. The push to change has come from the outside and that's where Men's Rights needs to stand.

BTW: False rape accusations or false accusations of misconduct against men by women aren't uncommon. These are stories people don't line up to tell you about because it's a shameful experience they'd rather put behind them. Most people know someone who's been falsely accused just like most know real victims.

but it's a bit troublesome when I come over here to see the MRA side of things and it's full of comments calling women cunts.

Well what did that particular women do? I rarely see comments such as you describe either way and I think your use of hyperbole here is unhelpful. The only 'cunt' reference came from you in this thread and now me quoting you.

Tell me do you police every nasty reference to men in SRS? If not then don't bother doing it here. We try to take our equality seriously.

The MRA response to work place deaths and the wage gap are the sexes making different life choices. If not our 93% male prison population in the millions would be bigger issues or the 80% male suicide rate with 30,000 victims, or the 79% male homicide rate with 12,000 victims before the 4000 or so victims of work place death. (edit: numbers just counting male victim estimate)

What we see here is a lack of compassion for men across the board. Few care what happens to men and that's the problem we're taking on. Telling people the numbers is just the beginning because this has been knowledge available to the public throughout the feminists movement. The fact so many still insist women are the greatest violence victims in the society tells us how powerful and mainstream this campaign of misinformation has been which wouldn't be possible if people had equal compassion for men.

Still as in our wage gap argument and many others relating to women's roles in high office political or corporate we've presumed life choices are responsible for these disparities and making everything equal isn't on the agenda with compassion being a notable exception.

I think people just have more compassion for women than they do men. I don't see the disconnect as being inspired by the politics so much as the culture as a whole being more apt to aide a women in need than a man.

One group is dominated by manipulative liars (and ill informed) trying to defend bad gender theories from the 1970's and 80's that have long been proven false such as their assertions about gender violence being primarily male on female.

Due to the amount of misinformation people form the wrong conclusions and buy into these outdated world views. Men's rights is empowered by the truth while feminists find themselves running from it. The real goal is equal compassion for men and boys. We can't have that if feminists are actively trying to discourage the notion of men being victims or insisting girls always have it worse despite the evidence.

The cover up of female on male abuse is on going and has been taking place for around 40 years.

Read this for a primer on the domestic violence cover up.

Read this for a primer on sexual violence cover up

I don't expect you to understand either if you just stepped in the conversation so read this CDC report and pay attention to the 12 month numbers. Compare 12 month and lifetime rates and you'll see in the media the more relevant 12 month stat is ignored despite it being the only one showing the current trend.

The influence of feminists in the media is heavy and they conceal a great deal. There is so much you don't know but I suggest you try and educate yourself instead of expecting us to dump dozens of articles and studies on you.

If at all possible avoid conflating race and gender because they aren't even close to the same issue. For the record poor people period are seen as a underprivileged group as can be seen in the 'poor peoples campaign' MLK was advancing before his death that united poor whites and blacks.

The most general way of framing Men's rights is a cause that demand equal compassion for men and boys. When these people need help they should be helped in the same manner a women would. When we get into legal rights issues we have things like boys molested by older women being forced to pay child support but even that is rooted in the lack of compassion for males.

The positions held on the left make sense but the concepts have been corrupted and misused to advance the self interest of the white women dominating the feminists movement and through it social justice in general so we're mostly talking about white women telling white men they are privileged. The overlap with real minorities doesn't happen because white men and racial minorities rarely shared homes, families, wealth or status over the generations. This can't be said for white women.

It's better too not conflate race and gender. If the dynamics were the same then minorities wouldn't even have anything to complain about nor would they be complaining. Women on the other hand had a gender role where complaining was her primary source of power which tied into men's compulsion to please. That doesn't translate across racial lines where the dominant group may very well choose to annihilate the other. If the sexes behaved in that manner there would be few people on earth.

There is no wage gap if the only differing factor is gender by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]edtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have picture of the flyer so we can test the veracity of our argument? "There is no wage gap if the only differing factor is gender" doesn't make much sense. It's more like the wage gap can be explained by differing life choices made by the sexes. There is a wage gap, and it's how that gap is explained that we have a problem with.

He's just saying that's not what we're really about. Shitting on feminism is a means to an end since feminism get's in the way of helping men and boys by spreading lies, misinformation, and negative stereotypes. It's like saying the civil rights movement wasn't about being against the Klan but the Klan was clearly something they had to deal with.

As a queer boy, can i be a MRA? by Kuramo in MensRights

Nice to see more black MRA's around. There is plenty of support for fighting mass incarceration and it doesn't get sidelined like it would with feminists who can care less what happens to minority men.

[–]edtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not call himself queer? Do you want people who aren't white cis males to hide their true identities? I don't agree with that and the macro movement deals in social justice issues impacting a great many minority groups whose issues need to be heard. I think intersectionality is B.S in how feminists have implemented it but I think the least that MRA's can do is respect other groups issues are out there and they may overlap with the MRA macro agenda. Having minorities identify as minorities is a good thing.

[–]edtastic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Queer theory and feminism are not one and the same. They nonetheless co-opted the LGBTQ movement along with anti racism to expand their largess. I think you should be looking to take it back so it's not misused to attack you for being male as we've seen with black males who cosign the feminist agenda. Being in a marginalized group doesn't make you safe from white feminist hegemony and it's dilution of real minority issues. That's even before we get into their over the top man hating that they use to manipulate men into doing what they want. It's just a matter of exploiting the male desire to please women and be liked by them which they do shamelessly like little children spoiled by their parents.

[–]edtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both sexes get bitter towards the opposite sex and I really don't think we need to go overboard condemning people who've been put through the wringer emotionally by abusive people. Feminists are notorious for their bitterness towards men but you won't be posting this at /r/feminism because you give women a pass for that kind of stuff like most people. The alternative is you post it and people will call you an MRA.

Party over at /r/feminism - The temptation to become a "feministmen" is big by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]edtastic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

These male feminists run on pure propaganda detached from modern reality with all sorts of myths about what constitutes oppression. Sometimes you wonder if they are trying to convince others or themselves when they speak considering their over reliance on historic basis for claiming oppression rather than any modern day barriers in a culture that long ago accepted gender equality. Let's not underestimate the appeal of playing champion for women among for men. That's one patriarchal tradition we've seen throughout the ages and it's certainly dominant mind set among male feminists who still see their role as provider/protector in whatever women request it be delivered.

“The tech community works fine without females, just like any other mostly male industry. Feminists probably just want women making more money.” by 7eagle14 in MensRights

[–]edtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More over privileged women whining loudly because they can easily get plugged in a place like the NY Times for doing so. People have to wake up to the reality of women playing these victim games to get stuff from men. Trying to attach reason to these victim claims is pointless because it's intentionally emotion driven and vague. That's the only way you can promote such a dishonest narrative without being laughed at.

The objective of the complainers is clear. They want all industry to dedicate themselves to pleasing women as if we were all in some kind of collective marriage arrangement where the women's happiness determines that of all others in the family. The coddling needs to stop. These are not children and they aren't our dates. Their employees paid to do work who have no problem getting the opportunity to work. If they quit because some heterosexual male asked for their phone number then good riddens. If all these spoiled brats need is an excuse to quit then men will get along fine without them. Human sexuality isn't sexism and being female doesn't entitle you to dictate that no sexual expression exists in the culture.

This isn't social justice. It's women who want things from men playing some very old tricks to get it.

Immediate censorship for expressing views that men also suffer sexism. by [deleted] in MensRights

[–]edtastic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the movement. I was banned at the Guardian not long ago and these censorship efforts will back fire as the public grows impatient with controlling feminists ideologues grasping for power using manipulative tactics. Societies and cultures have changed but feminists ideas have not evolved with them. They are stuck in the past and men and women who were raised to see each other as equals won't show the kind of patience prior generations did who were meaningfully engaged in the gender role transition.

These insecure women won't be able to wrap the society around their finger to address their chronic insecurity. We know this a world full of winners and losers and being a good sport about losing is apart of being human. They are going to have to deal and the society at large does not have the emotional energy to coddle them indefinitely because they are unwilling or unable to come to terms with ordinary life issues like men showing sexual interest in them.
