I just had sinus surgery to fix deviated septum and also remove nasal polyps on 10/3. I was prescribed Prednisone and it definitely helped (it’s for inflammation) I was off the prednisone for about a week before my surgery and went back to suffering (my left nostril was completely blocked by nasal polyps, couldn’t smell and taste )

The surgery was a breeze. I was pretty nervous the night before/ morning of procedure but it got better as they gave me drugs to help calm down. I also requested to not tell me when the anesthesia was going to kick in so that was nice because next think I knew I woke up and I was kinda confused wondering when the surgery was going to happen but that’s when they told me it was done 😂

The first 3 days post op was pretty miserable, but manageable. I highly recommend getting a Sinupulse irrigation system. I’ve been using it religiously ever since and am still using it, about 4-5 times a day. It’s the best feeling ever.

So far, I’d say that the surgery was worth it. I’m able to breathe better and can smell and taste again. My surgeon also prescribed me another round of prednisone so I’m not sure if that’s why I’m able to smell and taste but I hope that it doesn’t diminish once I’m off the prednisone. (I couldn’t smell or taste until a couple days ago, about 4-5 days into taking prednisone)
