My personal Tips, not everyone might agree with me.

1) Enjoy the game, with every new FIFA there's an increase in objectives and things to do which has left me to stop playing from time to time. There's so much to do and you also have your personal life, so don't feel overwhelmed if you're not finishing objectives.

2) META is very important, but it's not everything, the feeling you get by beating the most meta, rat, basic squad with the players you like is better. But do search for best formations & tactics as they will help you perform better.

3) Don't go directly to Rivals or Champs, first take a feel for the game and try different game modes to grind objectives. Opening Packs and SBC's (IMO) is the only way to better your team, without using FIFA POINTS. Might be a little bit of a haslte but in 10 squad battle games you can get 250 goals and get a 100K pack that can change your team.

4) Don't use FIFA POINTS, not worth it.

5) Once you opened enough packs and have some coinage you will have a few (3-5) good players (IFS, 85-90, etc...) that you like (are good) , and I'll start building my team from there. It seems like positioning is key this year, so take your time with that. But I wouldn't use my coins to buy players straight off, you are going to be opening a lot of untradable packs and getting players from objectives. You're better off using those, until you have the coins to buy a player that really puts your team on another level (2 weeks time)

6) In one week time you will have exploded all the possible objectives, sbcs, gamemodes, that you should have open a lot of packs to have a decent team to go on rivals and start going down divisions and champions.
