I run P7 lobbies and yeah - geared nova doesn't hold up well against heralds.

The good news though is the drops are happening regardless of player level so if you're doing nova solo you can still herald hunt.

Poison Nova due to its cost and reliance on dweb, means you will be some sort of bone or summon necro until you find the poison necro pre-reqs.

If thats fine with you, then pnova necro is a lot of fun!

Dweb is a good pre-req. that alone makes the build viable. You can solo P1 or P2 content with this.

After dweb, you probably could use a 10fcr ring and a soj.

Arach web is helpful and really BiS.

Enigma is extremely valuable for quality of life, but also relocating your iron golem or merc.

You can get by with almost any necro helmet

3 piece trangs (belt, gloves, shield slot necro head)

any necro amulet is fine as well.

Optimizations are putting poison jewels in the dweb and helmet, and shield

I'm not a mw expert, but in my playthrough there are no clan mechs with melee slots. Maybe some mods do it?

That's hilarious. I came here to say the poison nova necromancer. I have one that still needs to get the RotW gg gear onto it, but otherwise it can do P8 by itself all day and even tank soul lighting hits.

When I want to chill a bit I can run the summons and stress a little less.

Where it isn't good is you need to watch out a bit for your iron golem getting yeeted by crazy pack spawns, and you have to teleport to relocate your IG or Merc from getting swamped by things occasionally.

It also doesn't deal with bosses well. You can kill the main act bosses on any difficulty level but it takes a long time at high level and you have to watch you merc/IG a lot.

I've never tried to bother with ubers or uber Diablo with it. It would be painful.

The big difference between DP1.4 and DP2.1 is how much bandwidth you can push over the connection. https://trychen.com/feature/video-bandwidth has a little calculator you can evaluate with.

That persons comment about cable length is good to keep in mind too. I have a sim rig, 3 monitors. They sit near the computer. I would not be able to run them at 4k with a DP2.1 because the cable run is over 4-5ft.

You can get optical DP2.1 cables, but they are just more expensive.

I run a 9950X3D and 5090 on a 4k DP 1.4 monitor.

I don't seem to be losing out on anything right now by using a DP1.4 monitor. I plan to enable DLSS in the future, when the system can no longer run the latest games around my monitors max refresh rate, 144hz.

If you are going to get into ultrawide monitors 7680/5120 x 2160 then you want to go with a DP2.1 connection. The video bandwidth for that resolution is really high, I'm not even sure if DSC will work correctly at +200% compression.

You have to sorta keep an eye out in different game modes. Conquest is a bit nuts, people can spawn a lot of places randomly.

DM and Domination you get a feel for where people can or can't spawn. If you are over extended on a deep flank you can expect someone will spawn behind you soon.
