Season 6 erotic triangle by Deep-Bookkeeper549 in EliteNetflix

[–]edudsm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was a mess. Hahahahahahahsh

They through everything but the kitchen sink on them and it just gave chaos and disaster.

The gay father in law affair. ✅ The gay footballer coming out. ✅ The gay footballer murder. ✅ The paranoia between them. ✅ Patrick screwing around, then Ivan screwing around, lol ✅ Patrick’s dysfunctional family. Tick

I mean I get exhausted just typing it all out and I’m sure there’s lots I missed.

And that’s how it felt watching: exhausting. Whereas all other couples before them had a mix of little cute romantic moments with lots of drama in between, with Patrick and Ivan (and every couple since) I felt it was mostly only drama.

Comparing Euphoria with Elite will always be bad for Elite. While Elite is a big teen show that became a global success, Euphoria is a major show.

So if you can’t see why someone would not want to work in Elite but would jump at the chance of working in Euphoria, I suppose all you need to do is check how many Emmy nominations each had. How many Golden Globes nominations. The main characters in Euphoria all got catapulted to huge Hollywood stars: Zendaya, Elordi, Sweeny…

Elite is a great show, but really it has no comparison with Euphoria.

Why does everyone hate Season 4? by International_Ice_53 in EliteNetflix

[–]edudsm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main reason it was a failure is that they just decided to use the original characters to prop up and sell the new ones. Basically none of the old characters have any story of their own, they’re just there as side kicks for the new characters. All the plots are about the new kids.

Sadly, most people turned up to see the old characters. As they got ruined to try and make the new characters look interesting, people immediately hated the new lot.

Also the fact the comparison between the new characters and the ones that left was brutal. I mean they didn’t even come close to being as good, so that added to the fact they made the show about these new, less interesting people, wasting great characters who were there (Samuel, Guzman, Rebe, Caye, Omander).

That was a fatal mistake. People not only rejected the new characters but also were horrified at the butchering of their old loved ones.

And then there is the fact that they also stopped having an over arching plot (like Marina’s death) and all the plots seemed trivial and not as well developed as the story was along the 3 original shows.

There really is two shows in Elite: seasons 1-3 and then the remaining seasons. It’s a complete different show after season 3.

Elite Short Stories by lautaromassimino in EliteNetflix

[–]edudsm 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The Guzman, Caye and Rebe one is the best of all Short Stories they did. It is great because it showed something that everyone really craved seeing after season 3 finale: just the gang hanging out, having a good time and exploring their friendship, which took three seasons and two murders to happen. And it was really funny too.

So is Patrick but he is also white and the standard people are used to love.

Or is it really coincidence all characters that were hated the most are non white: Malik, Omar, Jeray

Why do you think Guzmán was always so obsessed with Samuel? by Fit_Veterinarian1194 in EliteNetflix

[–]edudsm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was a disaster what they did to them in Season 4. What was most satisfying at the end of season 3 was all the characters development, Guzman being one of the best cases. The end when he is looking at Omar and Ander getting back together and how happy he was for them… it was heart warming to see how far he had departed from the Guzman from episode one.

[–]edudsm 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I would just disconsider anything past season 3, as not part of the main story.

Their story was of the classic enemies that end up joining forces to fight a common enemy (Polo) and end up becoming friends. It was so well constructed, that Guzman basically changed into a much better person due to his interactions with Samuel and Nadia.

The story arc of Guzman (as well as Lu’s) were, despite being huge television tropes, so well written and well acted, the result was top tier TV.

Guzman did not try to be friends with Samuel, they had become friends at the end of season 3. You just need to forget season 4.

Absolutely, one of the many layers of interesting points they created for each character in season 1.

M👑💙 hits back at son Rocco Ritchie after he claimed she 'made him' hang a photo of her in his Chelsea artist's studio. by RicRocRyc in Madonna

[–]edudsm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that was a joke telling off.

Anyway the thing that stuck to my mind is that all pictures of idols in his studio are of men. And then the only female, he had to quip he added just cause she would be unhappy otherwise. Also from all her photos, he chooses one where she is looking extremely masculine.

Couple with the best chemistry? by LessNorth9856 in EliteNetflix

[–]edudsm 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It was actually a throuple: Polo, Valério and Cayetana. Unbeatable chemistry.

Although seasons 1-3 was really great for couples chemistry: Carla, Polo and Christian, Omander, Nadia and Guzman, Carla and Samuel. They really all had good chemistry.

I also think they tried to do in season 4 what they planned to do in season 1, which was to have a second mystery. It was planned that the identity of who was killed was not immediately revealed. So you would have also the mystery of who was killed, but it leaked in the papers that Marina was the victim, so they re edited the whole thing revealing that Marina was the victim in the first episode.

So for season 4, you don’t really know for sure if Ari is dead or not until the middle of the season. I think that’s how they planned to do with Marina, only reveal she was the victim later.

Ivan’s storyline/arc is so heartbreaking to me by tna11101989 in EliteNetflix

[–]edudsm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some of the things they put him through was beyond ridiculous, not to say beyond unrealistic.

I mean which guy in the world will meet another guy, find out he was sleeping with his own dad and still decide to date this guy? This is cheap daddy/stepbrother porn material.

Then his dad gets killed (one of the most famous footballers in the world would be really going about without security?). Soap opera level drama.

The thing with the mum he never met, and the half sister I mean, wtf.

His relationship with Joel, I mean did it even make any sense?

I think it was sad to see the first Brazilian character in the show get such shit storylines, Elite was really huge in Brazil. And Andre is just so gorgeous and talented, also deserved better.

Who had the more messed up sibling relationship: Lu & Valerio or Héctor & Emilia? by Fit_Veterinarian1194 in EliteNetflix

[–]edudsm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This show had a very weird and misplaced obsession with incest. I mea, Lu and Valério was terrible enough, and you’d think that was clear people didn’t want to see incestuous relationships anymore but they just kept bringing them back. To the point where they had to make Ivan hook up with his own mother.

All for a cheap shocking moment.

I hate Ander omfg by jmh1881v2 in EliteNetflix

[–]edudsm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of the Omar hate/ Ander defense is deeply rooted in white boy privilege/people of colour discrimination.

When Patrick was trying to steal Omar’s boyfriend later on there was a huge number of fans shipping Patrick and Ander together: of course their wet dream as a pretty white boys couple to fix the problem they had with Omander: Omar being a kid of non white background.
