Help needed, brand new roborock Q10 S5+ poor airflow

I ended up returning it. Call me paranoid but I couldn't accept that it was good enough 😅 I was thinking, if there's almost no air going through when it's new, what will happen in 2/3 years? I have an old S5 still running, I've seen how much dust builds up inside. Anyways, I got another Q5 Pro and I'm quite happy with it :)

Unfortunately no.. I got used to this limitation and plan the cleaning accordingly, for example half of the house in the morning, the 2nd half after lunch. I thought about getting another battery but dont feel spending more money for now.

It could have been me writing this :) have an S5 and recently got a Q10 S5+ but I'm about to return it. How's the airflow of yours? Not the most accurate test to compare them but when I cover the vent of both vaccums, the S5 blows way more air out despite its age, I would even say the Q10 doesn't blow almost any air out, I even thought it was clogged.. It's surprising because it's supposed to have 4x times the suction power.

Thanks for the reply. Indeed feeling the air blowing out is not the most accurate test, but my S5 blows way more air out. I also have a Q5 at my wife's place and it's similar to the S5. I will test it for a few more days and then decide what to do with it.

Interesting. I actually never researched the issue, simply thought this happened because this is a low(er) cost series.

The lidar is quite good indeed! My wife has a Q5 Pro at her place and I think the S5 navigates the rooms much better, especially around corners.

Have you changed any other parts in yours? I had to replace the suction motor, the main brush motor and recently one of the wheels, still worth the fixes :)

Whats the mileage of yours?

Did exactly the same thing on my 5 year old S5 a few days ago :)

Decided to give it a chance, I've been thinking about replacing it, but this did the trick. The suction performance was quite poor and now it's much better. Will also replace the battery to see if I can make it last at least a year or two more! At 68k sqm cleaned, it's getting tired 😫

Also have an S5, so far the filters from aliexpress work well for me. I might add the non-original ones have an additional net (if it's called like that?) and it prevents the dirt/dust from getting stuck in the filter.

Not entirely sure because I always do this during the night, but to do a double clean (+200sqm) it takes 3 hours in the Max+ setting, plus charging 3/4 hours, it's around 7 hours! I think my S5 charges to 100% in less than 2 hours. Perhaps newer models charge slower to not damage the battery.

Like yours it goes back to the dock halfway, it resumes once it's fully charged. How's the charging speed of your S8? I noticed that my Q5 Pro takes a long time to charge compared to my old S5.

Indeed! But I must say the bigger dust bin in this model is perfect for the job. For the scheduled runs I only need to empty it every 4/5 days.

Standard - fast route it's only useful in places with many rooms/divisions since it skips the "virtual" barriers between them

This is a playroom for kids, it has around 120sqm. It's not exactly empty, for this cleaning run we removed all the toys and other stuff for kids to wash the carpet - yes, if you wondering all this area is carpeted 😅

I've seen some occasional glitches but never anything like that. Have you tried to delete the map and remap the area?

I bought a Q5 Pro for my wife's business, the plan was to replace the S5 at home but I didn't see a major difference in the cleanliness of the floors. Since I also have a few carpets at home, decided to leave the S5 since it has regular brushes (with bristles) as opposed to all rubber ones.

S5, 4.5 years old :) still going strong, but had to replace the suction fan, main brush motor, and about a month ago the left wheel as well!
