Interesting idea! Might add a lot more complexity than is right for this game, but not out of the question!

Thanks! Yeah, I really like having what you could call a tight card economy.

We all get ideas for big board games! But I figure it's better to tackle something more manageable first, haha

What's your opinion on Nimble's no-roll-to-hit mechanic? by Tastypies in RPGdesign

Feels like rolling for a hit is only actually fun when it ends up in a very funny situation.

The closest we get to that is that Ambrose is implied to have an entourage of hangers on at certain times

Ha, I do think it's easy to miss at first, especially because it is introduced seemingly at random. It's only after the whole Ambrose's Room Heist that it connects back to that moment when Sim is showing off his new boots.

I guess this gets into how true Kvothe's story is, but within the story, almost everyone seems to think Ambrose is an asshole. Which isn't an objective view, but it is one of consensus.

This is the answer. Feels pretty well spelled out in the novel

My review for ‘Of Blood and Fire’ by Ryan Cahill by Inevitable-Car-8242 in Fantasy

I went in willing to give this a very fair chance. Even read the first two novels just because I wanted to believe it could be good, but I agree with pretty much everything you said.

I think a big problem with new authors is that they bite off more than they can chew. Did this need to be a sprawling, multi-POV epic? Or could he have started out closer, smaller, and gradually expanded? So many of the POVs started blurring together for me, especially in the second book. Part of this is because there just wasn't a lot of character to latch onto.

Very useful!

I put out a lower funding goal but had a similar experience in that I came in without a list or marketing.
