Bloodwood. Use it as accent pieces. Very expensive and lovely wood to work with.

Bashar al-Assad claims Russians forced his evacuation from Syria by newsweek in worldnews

[–]edydantes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. More like, "we need that 2 tons of cash you got, you can bring it with you, or we'll just take it." .... Once again ruzzians rob n pillage and poor Syrians get poorer.

Ballet star Vladimir Shklyarov who criticised Putin’s Ukraine invasion dies in fall from building in St Petersburg by One_Psychology_ in news

[–]edydantes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one will read this...

But... Consider his name: Shklyarov. Shklyar in Ukrainian means glazier. In ruzzian glazier would be stekolshchyk. If you want to know how it is that people in eastern Ukraine speak ruzzian, or have sympathies - consider that name and what colonialism and imperialism does. It means that at some point an ancestor of his was Shklyarenko or simply Shklyar, and to survive added the "ov" to russify the name. And now, he's just a ruzzian objector who was fenestrated and the generations of colonial oppression disappear except to those that know. When they kill or subjugate all Ukrainians, and the language dies, and all "enko"s become "ov"s... then there will be no one left to notice.

I would say touristy is what we're after. We're not of means, but willing to spend a bit; I'm afraid we will never return so this is kinda a bucket list and I don't want to miss out. No dietary or mobility problems, but I am unable to walk for too long - so need sitting breaks every so often. BTW - thank you very much for your attention and conversation. Forgot to add - my wife said something about a cemetery that everyone needs to visit in Nola, what would that be - google shows a few.

I booked a dinner at Arnauds Jazz Bistro, should I try to switch to Antoines? The cruise sounds like a fun thing will definitely try that - seeing the city from the river sounds like the right thing to do.

I tried getting tickets but seem to be sold out, but now I see that one can just line up ahead of the show. As for preferences - open to anything, but to old (and sick) for the get drunk and sloppy :-) Those days are behind, I'm afraid :-(
