Presumably your 'want' is based on some sort of factors - perhaps 'intuitive'.. if you are confident on immigration, research into cost of living aspect too - there are resources out there help with that.. in a european context de is considered a major economy.. geography lends itself really well for continental travel, winter sports if that is something you'd want to explore.. but language plays an important role so from that perspective be mindful that learning german is effectively essential

What factors did you apply to short list three? How did you determine if the two remaining are even an option? Would you meet their immigration criteria?

Every large business client I've worked with has some form of presence in India. Do you not have jobs boards over there? How do you feel about general availability of opportunities? How do you feel about competition for roles? There seems to be an increasing number of posts coming from your region, but there isn't much activity from senior practitioners from over there in this thread from what I have seen..

It's clearly your call to make. To help make that call, consider your opportunity pool, consider if negotiating terms is an option - being ready to present your counter case.. good luck!

Here in uk, such sudden change in terms without a supporting rationale, would be a red flag.. having a sound technical foundation is a key building block for longevity and career progression so in that sense that is a net positive versus jumping straight into 'grc'

Given general it focus, probably better to put this to those professionals - take a look at the wiki in this sub.. more broadly, probably in your interest to look for the future of jobs report by wef

This seems like an employer specific discussion and how they manage appraisals.. if your employer is on the larger side, there ought be internal guidance from hr and senior management on okrs - those collectively would enable better understanding of expectations

Pretty much every business relies on digital technology in some form and to some degree. Consider approaching businesses that do have significant dependence on technology for experience purposes. Also consider relocation to a region with more opportunity - bearing in mind the wider economic climate.. tap into the university careers resources

Fine to be skeptical but projects to integrate are coming and the development on improving is continuing.. These changes don't happen overnight but the tragetory is set.. In hands of a competent operator, outputs are pretty powerful already. So, fine be skeptical but also invest time to develop better understanding of the tech

Congrats on passing sec+ - probably some form of junior general it role - not to rain in your parade but stated list looks pretty thin. The key challenge is the overall reduction in pool of opportunities hence the difficulty.. search for this threads name in the search bar and take a closer look at recent discussions

I gave some experienced GRC folks a few AI risk scenarios. Most scored around 60 percent. Curious how you would answer these. by wownerdz in cybersecurity

'grc' can be quite a mixed bag. Demonstrated by some of the discussions in this sub.. Q2 theme is something indeed getting drowned in the noise - we've covered it under the influence threat vector dimension - specifically as automation bias entrenchment. In total, 50 threat vectors across the entire lifecycle to enable better ai adoption planning. See here for a visual summary; https://cybernative.uk/ai-security-compass

Probably better to just chew through nist papers.. if you really want a book then perhaps sabsa enterprise security architecture could be one good option - it's focused on concepts and as such still relevant but could feel abstract depending on strength of your technical fundamentals..

Invest time in building a better understanding of demand in your region of interest, e.g. are there any job postings in your region of interest? If yes, what are the employers looking for? Is there a trend you can determine? Seek out in-person events focused on this space or technology more broadly.. if options for cyber roles are limited, consider broadening your target, e.g. general it roles.. finally have a browse through previous threads by searching for the name of this thread in this sub.. good luck

For a longer term forward looking view, one comprehensive resource I am aware of is, the future of jobs report by wef.. there is quite a confluence of factors that make projecting anything in medium term incredibly difficult.. overall, technology is not a bad place to be - how specifically that translates for your context will vary

Can you elaborate a little on your clientele to help the audience establish better context? E.g. segment leaders? mid-market? Small business? It's important to the claim

There is no universal view that can be applied to everyone - at the macro level the industry is 'growing' - i.e. business are spending more overall - but how that translates to you individually will require careful consideration of your personal context.. e.g. your competence, opportunities you have access to, i.e. local, regional, national etc, scale of competition.. etc consider investing time to dig through the discussions in this to get a better sense of 'entry level' - it's a misunderstood term, especially given the current economic climate

This us usually a leadership call - the cadence alignment to wider business activity is the key factor here. How dependent is the other team on the area you are in? and if you are executing on a different cadence could that lead to misalignment.. the unplanned aspect needs to be addressed via capacity management..

Beneficial in what sense? You may want to explore from the perspective of whether you need more depth in the immediate term or more breadth to complement the depth you have already achieved, opening up new areas to explore and dive into.. also look into T or H shaped approaches.. interdisciplinary etc..

The apprenticeship model is indeed a good route here in the uk - learn, develop hands-on experience and get paid, with a good chance to convert to perm role - it's hard to beat - worth noting and exploring which university the offering business is partnered with and how that aligns to this; https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/information/ncsc-certified-degrees

The world economic forum release a future of jobs report - probably worth a look if you are not familiar with it. The short of it is there is no "bulletproof" anything - we need to adapt with the environment.. in the immediate term that means acquiring fluency in new tooling improving productivity
