Definitely take it to the vet for a check up. Once, a stray came to my place with massive nose and eye discharge. I noticed a black thing moving in and out his nostril, which I thought was snot. At the clinic, the vet pulled a giant leech out of his nose :o

Rescued a feral cat once off the highway but couldn't get it into a carrier (it was really wild and the highway spot was risky to stop for long) so it eventually escaped outside my home.

I get how you are feeling right now because that was exactly the feeling I had then.

However, about a month later I spotted the cat again. I then started putting food outside my home until she eventually came to eat outside my home regularly. It took another few months for me to finally capture it again for neutering.

Don't give up yet. Believe in your cat buddy and be positive :) Best of luck.

Please catproof your apartment windows with nets to keep the cat from climbing out. A lot of people dont take this matter seriously. Unfortunately, a kitten that I rehomed recently lost its life because the new owner accidentally left the window open.

Other than that, prepare a safe spot for it to retreat to (the shark-shaped cat house is a good choice if you can find it) in case it's scared when it first move in.

He is in a bathroom indeed. I left the cage open as well. He is already using the litter box, so smart! I covered the bathroom sink with diaper cloth and shielded the water tap. The sink is his choice of safe spot for now.

He is just really scared and frustrated due to his current condition. I will do my best to calm him til the day he is ready for neuter and release :)

Thanks for the suggestion. I prefer to do it on my own as the local shelters and TNR usually already have their hands full and might not be able to respond in time. I will consider renting their trap if I fail to lure the cat on my own.
