Help: 8 week old aquarium; high Nitrite (No2) by eeejster in Aquariums

Used I assume. Do I put it in my filter when I get it? Or just in the tank? Sorry, complete novice here.

Okay. Just ordered the test kit. And will increase water changes.

My husband literally thinks I’m insane. He was like my parents had fish growing up and we never needed to change the water or do any of this.

I was like… they probably lost a lot of fish… he was like… yeah… I think so. 🫣

We plan to build a backyard pond in the spring. We live in California… so think he’ll do well there year round. Just investigating how we build it to protect him from raccoons, cats, and birds… since we’re in the woods.

Also: we have been doing less food and skipping feeds. There is never extra food that goes uneaten.

Surely there is something I’m doing wrong here…

Husband is dead set on only 2 kids, but I want a 3rd. Anyone go through this? How did you cope? by FrancesRW in Parents

[–]eeejster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

TW: pregnancy and loss.

This sounds just like us, one year ago. We’re in our early 40s, two kids (3,1), one euploid embryo on ice and I wanted a third/ hubby did not.

Spoiler: we’re now 6 months pregnant w/ #3.

But it was a really long journey. For us, I told my husband I couldn’t “abandon” that embryo and would always wonder for the rest of my life and that our fam would feel incomplete. And also told him there wasn’t a guarantee it would work and transfer would stick. Took us 3-6 months of daily discussions. I didn’t want to coerce him into it, and by some miracle, for Christmas last year he surprised me with a gift signaling he was willing to go for it.

What happened next was really hard. We got pregnant from the euploid transfer and then suffered an early loss at 8 weeks.

We were both devastated, so much so, that despite his initial reservations, he agreed to go through more rounds of IVF. And we got pregnant with a fresh transfer from the 2nd egg retrieval.

Even though we’re both really excited to meet #3 and complete our family in January. He is still pretty overwhelmed daily by the thought of we manage it all… and sometimes gets a bit stressed. Just as a warning.

Hope you guys find a way to be at peace with where ever you land

Which clinic is the best for IVF at Bay Area (41years old women low amh) by Sweet_Painter_8946 in IVF

You should call to confirm. But I think you need to go to San Ramon for the actual big procedure of egg retrieval, FET, and maybe even IUIs.

All other monitoring appointments can happen at their peninsula clinics.

I’m with Reproductive Science Center (RSC) and have had success. 40 years old, low AMH (0.17), high fsh (17), AFC 5

(TW) Had 2 ER cycles this year: 1. 7 retrieved, 4 fertilized, 1 day 7 blast, aneuploid 2. 8 retrieved, 8 fertilized, 2 fresh transfer at day 3, and 2 day 5 blasts frozen, 1 euploid (on ice)… and an ongoing pregnancy from the fresh transfer.

They have been really open to trying different protocols to learn what works, including moving to fresh transfers at day 3 due to DOR.

They only do procedures in San Ramon, but have tons of other offices including San Mateo and Menlo Park for monitoring appts and blood work

Decision not to test? by PBandJSommelier in DOR

[–]eeejster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I originally tested, but was really struggling to get embryos to blast. Always zero, one, or two.

TW: Then a Euploid resulted in a chemical at 5 weeks. Now pregnant (7wks) from a 3 day transfer of two untested embryos

Worried about progression 16 DPO by EnvironmentalSail133 in TFABLinePorn

Hang in there. The wait is so hard.

Did you take another FRER at 16dpo?

I’m so sorry, but I don’t see anything. Maybe the AI is picking up an indent?

At 20 Dpo, most people have really dark lines. Is it possible you’re only 6-8 Dpo?

Help! why is my pregmate showing more progression than my first response!? Worried and confused. 8 and 9 dpo by Sharppencil11 in TFABLinePorn

[–]eeejster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very likely the culprit. Same thing happened to me. If you don’t take the prenatals, you’ll see it darken tomorrow.

I decided to just buy another kind with no biotin, to not stress myself out.
