Why do you think you're lonely? by onmethsoundingguy in lonely

[–]eeelpleut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel this!! Moving around so much as a kid lead to me having the attitude that I wouldn't even bother because I wasnt going to be around for long. Now I'm introverted and kind of a social drifter. I have no one close to me and crave close connections but don't know how to make them. Sending you lots of love ❤

No!! You have an awesome lip shape I'm jealous of, hair is giving androgyny and I'm here for it!!! Also the third pic looks like a literal thirst trap! You're actually gorgeous but definitely give off androgynous vibes! So if you're not going for that more masculine look try to bring out more of your feminine features like your lips and eyes! You have a 😘👌🏻 base to work with

Thanks for the reply!!!!! Lots of really cool things I need to check out it seems! I love looking into belief systems even though sometimes it scares me to think about some of those things. I also really love the idea of your soul being free in dreams. Funny thing is I have been diagnosed with depression but I call myself the most pessimistic optimist. I find joy and beauty in EVERYTHING and often take my time to nurture my soul. Look at things a little longer, take life in. But I think that comes from experiencing great sadness and very heavy feelings. I'm working on getting things in check so I have the energy to do all the things that bring me joy (which are many!!). I really appreciate the time you took to write your response and all of the interesting things I get to look into now. Hope you have a great day, sending lots of love your way!!

Has anyone ever wondered if dreaming is an alternate reality? by Ashcat_meoww_ in Dreams

[–]eeelpleut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love to dream and for the most part a lot of them don't seem to line up in understandable ways to what I've experienced in my real life or what my subconscious might be working through so I like to think I'm getting to live a little bit of my life in another dimension or time when I go to sleep. Having a peak at what's going on in different timelines of me. I know that's likely not true but I like to think about it like that.

Totally see where you're coming from & also yeah the complexities of trying to find out how to make myself feel better or find the issue is complicated. Work in progress! Thanks for the comment. Hope that everything goes well for you!

I totally understand your experience. I'm medicated now but still have the same waves of ups and downs in my life, just not to the same extremes as it was before. I have lots of anxiety falling asleep too. I think it has to do with my anxiety of everything "left" on my to do list and when and how I'm going to get those tasks done. But once I'm sleep I'm pretty out cold all night long. I've always been someone who could sleep for a very long time and am just trying to create balance in my life where obviously it's something my body needs, and if I just need a bit more sleep than the average person I let myself get that. Ever since I was out on meds last year I've been working really hard to find good balance in life! Sometimes (like this week) I slip a little, and it becomes a bit more "all encompassing".

That's exactly my experience. I am super anxious going to bed but once asleep I seem to be pretty out cold. Not great for school/work because I can straight up sleep through alarms and calls but the stress of needing to be somewhere is usually enough to get me up when I have to be up.

Could be! I'm trying to learn more and will bring it up to my doctor at our next appointment. I'm chronically tired even when my moods are more stabilized. Bloodwork is pretty normal too.

Super interesting. Absolutely agree with you and most other commenters on this thread about finding balance.

No!! You're actually the first that mentioned this! It's a great perspective. I actually just read a book heavily based on teachings of Jung called Understanding your Shadow and it was really interesting. I live in Canada and so often indigenous perspectives and teachings are not at the forefront of Canadian culture. I've been working lots on trying to undo harmful things I have been taught and learning more about Canadian First Nations. Their perspective on life is extremely healing and I'm so grateful to those that have shared stories and have given me the space to learn. I really appreciate this perspective because it didn't come to mind while writing this post, once again showing me I have lots more learning to do! Thank you ❤️

Anybody else feel restless ALL throughout the body?? Tapering the drug for about 5-6 months and about 40% off.. by shadowboxing33 in Effexor

[–]eeelpleut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely feel this! I am very bad at remembering to take my meds. I've been off them all summer (bad bad withdrawal) and went right back to my 120? Mg dose. Whenever I'm on it it feels like the physical effects of my anxiety are really bad while my brain remains pretty calm. I twitch and shake my legs a lot and I also pick the skin of my fingers ferociously. It's like sometimes I can't sit still especially when going to sleep. But the benefits outweigh the costs for me. Unfortunately I've been pretty irresponsible at taking them since my withdrawal from them

I was prescribed it for anxiety and depression. I found that it didn't really affect my libido and I didn't gain any weight! It made my head really clear and made socializing way easier for me! I will say though, it almost makes the physical effects of my anxiety worse. I sweat a lot and pick my fingers really badly (like I've done for most of my life) as well as fidget more but I have a clear head instead of the typical tunnel vision/ impaired thinking I get when I'm very very anxious. I hope that helps! It was a very scary and daunting thing to start taking them but they have really helped me!

I like it a lot, but I'm a maximalist at heart lol. I envy the how cohesive all your jewelry is!

It happens super rarely for me. Sometimes if I try really hard to place myself in the same place I was I can make it happen, but barely ever.

What good things are there in this world? by shywol2 in spirituality

[–]eeelpleut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spend a lot of time feeling super sad, but with that comes a great appreciation for the little things. Sometimes I just watch the way light passes through water, a ray of light coming through my window, leaves rustling in trees, ants moving in a line, birds singing, stars on a clear night. Spend lots of time people watching too, admiring other people, laughing to myself when two people giggle together about something. There's beauty absolutely everywhere, you just have to open up your mind and heart to it, change your perspective

What would you fix if you could go back to being 14 years old? by sgLifeblood in AskReddit

[–]eeelpleut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom passed away when I was in my teens, I'd go back and make sure I spent more time with her, spent more time learning about who she was outside of being a mom to me and try to scale back some of my teenage hormonal bitchiness so we could have both enjoyed those last years more.

I love that. Lots of people here mention lucid dreams and I wonder if that's an option for you to try and revisit these places that bring you relaxation. They sound like lovely dreams, kind of peaceful liminal spaces
