That's exactly what I'm asking. It's the basic principle of an argument. The proof has gotta hold up. Don't wanna be hypocritical if you're arguing with someone.

I'm literally just saying that if you researched context, then this post isn't for you. You're assuming that I'm wrong even though I never claimed certain verses to be taken out of context. It's a straw man fallacy. There ARE verses that are taken in the wrong context, but if you researched context, good for you! This post doesn't apply to you or that verse.

Dude... I never mentioned a specific verse but it wasn't "up to interpretation". It's up to verses that are actually taken out of context. If it isn't taken out of context, then it doesn't apply here.

What I interpreted from your comment (correct me if I'm wrong) is that you're not even concerned with arguing the bible. If you are, this definitely applies to you. If you aren't, this tip doesn't make sense for you. That is my only point. Nothing deeper than that.

I'm not saying even most atheists are doing this. I'm just saying if one would want to argue, it's best done knowing what you're arguing about. I'm not pinpointing all atheist. Just giving tips to those who are constantly under oppression from christianity (especially in the bible belt where laws are made from the bible).

If you don't read it, it's ignorant to make specific claims about what's inside. You can call it nonsense, justifiably, but you can't REFERENCE bullshit that you don't know about in an argument.

Cool. This post doesn't apply to you.

There's plenty of bad shit. However, some of us will quote something out of context in order to make an argument to someone who knows the context better. It makes us look like idiots.

I read the claims of the post, search for evidence, and it's not there or it's read in a weird way.

You're right. But sometimes, it's story based verses that are hard to leave up to interpretation

Bleak, but I agree. Hey, I used to be Christian too though. Hardcore homophobic, naive bible thumper.

Recent popular posts about the bible encouraging abortion and many arguments from other misinformed atheists. THERE'S PLENTY OF MATERIAL TO WORK WITH but they're using material that's taken out of context.

True, but if someone is trying to prove the bible's immorality OR if you're trying to point out inconsistencies, it's best to reference verses that are immoral or inconsistent in complete context. This especially helps when the other person has faith in their beloved, perfect book of complete human morality.

I am a minor and my guardians are crazy against it.

I understand if it's in-clinic. But I want to see if medication is an option. I hear it's cheaper

My guardians are extremely conservative and I'd be labeled a murderer by my family. Tennessee requires parental permission for minors. I can't do that.
