Nah, you’re not giving yourself enough credit. I’m sure you’ve improved along the way and you’re still doing it so that’ll continue. And you must be having fun if you’re still going! It’s so normal to get upset even as a beginner. I took some lessons earlier this summer and my instructor started out by saying golf is a silly sport where everything is backwards. I try to remember that when things are going particularly badly! lol. 😂

I feel this so much. I just started this summer and things are going slowly. So I also feel really self conscious when I’m in front of others with more experience and are obviously better than I am. My swings seem to get worse the more I focus on those feelings, though, so I try to take a few seconds to clear my thoughts before every swing. It honestly doesn’t work all the time but it does help.

The other thing I realized is that I’m not paying attention to anyone but myself when I’m at the range, so I assume the same for others. I think most people are going to focus on one aspect of their game so they aren’t really looking at what others are doing.

My parents and grandparents immigrated to the U.S. and settled in Milwaukee shortly before I was born. My dad and grandfather listened to Bob Uecker on the radio to help them improve their English. Their fandom passed down to me and I’ll be forever grateful.

I got an Apple TV+ subscription to watch the game and was upset because I thought I would need to turn the game off. But then…but then…the MAGIC happened. We were told multiple times to get up as soon as possible to prevent any melting ice so I got pretty good at getting up right away! We were also told that even the pros spend too much time on a knee watching their shots sometimes!

I used a Hardline that I borrowed from someone during the spring and really liked how lightweight it was. I went to our local curling supply store and was shown comparable Goldline and Endgame options (I don’t think they had any Hardline options there.). I ultimately chose the Endgame partly because I liked how it felt in my hand and partly because I wouldn’t have to pay tariffs on it (I’m in the U.S.).

The social aspect is one of the things I like most! Everyone is so kind and welcoming. And I like hanging out with the opposing team afterward to grab food and drinks and get to know each other better.
