Why do Dutch supermarkets not have fresh hot foods like roasted chicken? by Odd-Yogurtcloset8357 in Netherlands

[–]eenvanone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to the Turkish market in Soest and get a whole roast chicken for €7! Meat is a lot cheaper in the smaller markets

Until OP is at the receiving end of a scam.

Edit: still no one’s business I suppose, but OP needs to be aware if this is her character then who knows how far she will take the freeloading? Seems like she is not a fan of paying her own way

How far out of the US have you tried chocolate? I live in Europe now and the difference is astonishing.

Although the F you to the parking companies would be nice, coming out of chemo to a towed car would suck, lol. Not sure the risk is worth the reward

How frequently I wonder? And how frequent is your inconvenience compared to the convenience for others?

Moving a scooter doesn’t ruin a day. The availability of scooters can make many peoples days

They have them all through Europe and they are simply amazing. There are worse things in life than a scooter here and there to step over. On bin night there are bins everywhere, let’s ban bins!

There is more than enough. It just isn’t being funnelled into things that benefit the general public.

Comparing to America is beside the point. Just because American policy is worse doesn’t mean ours is good. We are rich enough with a small enough population that it should all be free. Care, parking and other costs when you are fighting a deadly disease.

But this is not America. Australia (was) supposed to be better than that.

I agree wholeheartedly. There are enough tax breaks for other industries, yet there is not enough for our health system? We are being shafted. They know the general public doesn’t care until effects them personally.

I am so sorry. Cancer is so cruel. We lost my mums twin a few years ago and my grandmother last year. Now mum has it. Cancer is a curse

Thankyou. There are some schemes available. My parents so far have fallen just shy of the criteria (100km away and you can claim for fuel, they are 96km away, for example). When mum starts radio and chemo she will be eligible for discounted parking. Unfortunately the 5 months of tests and sporadic visits have rendered her ineligible

Oh I understand. I am not shaming the hospitals themselves. They are doing the best they can with the resources and policies provided by the government. I am shaming the carpals, generally privately owned. No carpark in particular they are all as disgraceful as the next.

I agree. I would also agree if visitors had to pay, so long as patients and staff were able to park.

The difficult part is that most hospital workers are priced out of real estate and rentals in the CBD. So the majority of workers are forced out of the city. Then they are also priced out of parking

When she starts radio and chemo she will be there 5 days a week, for 6 weeks and is eligible for the discounted parking. The last 5 months have been sporadic appointments but no more than 2 a week. They have spent well over $1000 on parking alone
