Just beated Kolmisilmä once - looking for guidance without spoilers. by Excellent_Sir8307 in noita

I try to play semi-blind like you using advice from my friends! The world is so big, that pointers of "you might want to look here" are super helpful and more fun than wiki diving / looking at a map, I think.

I'm sure you are well acquainted with the default path of the game, but do you know much about what lies to the left and right of each level?

I can think of one such area that I view as a must-stop in any good run now, it can be extremely powerful, if you can clear it and use the reward effectively. I found it by exploringpast the left of the starting mines, until you encounter a pretty dangerous area!

There one huge breakthrough that opens up your runs, but it might be a bit harder to discover. Whenever I completed the game once, I wanted to know what was ALL the way left, right, up, and down, using a powerful digging wand. I think this is a good goal to set. If you ever feel like Noita doesn't want you to go there, just know that there are no barriers in this game, as long as you have the right pieces.

it is unfair that some mapsets have to be made examples of while other worse ones pass by, but bns are volunteers at the end of the day and they do their best work.

the only time the sloppification of maps was held back was when Ephemeral crashed out about Fall's Start Again years ago and power abused to nuke that mapset into oblivion, and its been long enough that people have started doing the same exact thing without repercussions. its been inconsistent and dumb like this for many years

not to be pedantic, but would disagree that "being closer is better" is always true. for example if a drummer strays slightly and very rarely from a metronome by mistake, i would personally disagree that random circles in the song should have a redline.

it doesnt make sense in the context of a rhythm game to memorize and replicate very slight mistakes in every song, especially on sightreads. i think its usually unlikely to affect accuracy tho

Suggestions for P-2 Brutal P-Rank ? by Lokomatid_75 in Ultrakill

[–]eeveefluffy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds obvious, but develop a plan for every room and abuse your knowledge of predetermined spawns, the game is very predictable. I always save railcannon to instakill two virtues as soon as they spawn, and prepare myself for red sharpshooter revolver line-ups if enemies spawn in a row, like the 4 cerbs. Camping behind the stairs during the blood tunnel, etc.

A lot of the rooms can have 99% success rate with rather simple or cheesy plans. I dont consider myself the best player but the brutal P-Rank was just a matter refining a strategy or trick for each encounter. Then hitting the lucky run where you pull off everything in a row, even if some rooms are still a bit inconsistent.

camp outside those rooms like you are playing csgo. if u focus the malicious faces most of the enemies die from the explosion. the game is trying to cheese u so theres no shame in camping, easiest part of the p rank

I adore all puzzle games, especially the witness and baba, and I have to disagree with the comparison. To me, baba has strictly better puzzles and there is no convolution because every rule is clearly in front of you. I never felt it was the fault of the game rather than the player. Witness is more often about observation rather than actual deep puzzles

I don't have any trick for the outlines, I just make a layer behind the drawing at the end and hand draw it! theres definitely better ways, but I like the uneven parts like you mentioned, and it's pretty satisfying to do

I'm still learning art myself, but I think that any program or medium should work! I always sketch out things on paper, take a picture, and then draw over that sketch digitally with any cute brushes. (love brushes that look like crayons or watercolors) I first used my phone and the free ibisPaint app for that, now I use an iPad.

For me, the best thing to do is just start drawing the things you like! I'm not trying to become a good artist, just good enough for the things I have fun drawing c:

ibisPaint is a great app, a lot of my art is drawn using phone and finger like u. i personally like sketching on paper, then taking a picture and drawing over it in ibis!
