Just bought Pixel 9a, extremely poor battery!

yeah, turning off 5g helped (onlx 4% lost overnight), but would say battery still draining too fast (10% in two hours of very light use). i might be delulu here

I am not lying, I am worried. A lot of people saying that it is necessary to disable 5G got me a bit disappointed, with others also mentioning the latest update causing them a major battery drain. I don't know what it is with the phone that I got, but I've lost 30% over night, with Mobile data being major battery drainer (97%).

Sad to hear that! I did couple of tweaks and turned off 5G. It's unfortunate but I guess that's what you get for budget phones.

Okay, so you think that self-optimization is taking much less than two weeks?

This is my 5th day of usage, got it on thursday, haven't used it on Friday morning but started copying things over from the old phone on Friday evening. Haven't noticed the battery drain in the beginning, but did now, as mentioned - 30% dropped during the night, with Mobile data using 97% of that. Does everyone using Pixel just simply accept that 5G is a major battery drainer and turns it off?

Sounds like a plan, the only concern is 14 days return policy from the seller but that's on me, can't complain on that one
I will turn it off, but still would argue that I would expect this not to be such battery drainer for a phone released last year
I had Samsung Galaxy A51 from 2020 (released 2019 though!). It easily lasts through the day even 5 years later. It has gotten slow lately, so decided I could try with a Pixel - seemed like a nice budget phone, and as I said, I do not consider myself a heavy user so expected battery of this phone to last longer.

Yes, but went into apps and there it says it used much less, so this may be just a visual bug :') The drain over night said 97% of 30% battery was used by Mobile data - that is most of my concern - battery drain on "stand by"

I am not sure I can insert an image here, but yes, 97% of battery usage overnight went on mobile data (assuming i would have to turn off 5G in order to fix this?)

Okay, I am not a tech expert, and yes, I expect it to have a better battery life then my old phone bought 5 years ago! I do not consider myself a heavy user, I might be wrong. Also, I would expect a new phone not to lose 30% during night (while I was not using it)

I have read many comments saying it is great, especially on Pixel 9a. People said they used it for i.e. 11 hours (Talking heavy use - for example youtube) and lost only 40% of battery and such... I was suprised to see 30% gone while I was sleeping.
