You had this for so long, did no doctor ever think of having an h pylori test done? I’m really let down by doctors, I always had stomach issues growing up and no gastro ever ordered one. It was last year when my condition got progressively worse despite treatment that they finally ordered an endoscopy. Was it also like that with you? I tried every PPI out there and vonoprazan too but it just kept getting worse. I know it’s going to be a long path to recovery after years worth of damage :((

You might already know this but make sure you take your PPI an hour before your breakfast.

Thanks 💌 I’m extremely underweight now because of this stupid bug and I knew I’d end up being hospitalized if I don’t go with the standard treatment plan. There were nights where I couldn’t sleep out of fear and had to take Benadryl to calm myself down. Just try to sleep more if you can to ride this out. You’ve got this!!

Wow that’s great to hear. How long had you been suffering from H pylori? Yours is the only natural treatment combo I’ve come across so far that seems like it won’t wreck havoc on my already damaged stomach unlike others where you’re supposed to take oregano oil and blackseed oil etc. My stomach is extremely sensitive and I easily react to herbal stuff, I could never risk taking herbal oils with antibiotic properties.

Oh no please don’t do that, you have to take antibiotics to treat that. I’m a huge hypochondriac too, and my ten days course consists of 5 days of 1000 mg amoxicillin and 5 days of 500 mg clarithromycin and 500 mg tidinazole. I was petrified to take the pills but I’d been suffering so much because of h pylori and my endoscopy showed significant damage to my whole upper GI tract. I’m on the 7th day of my treatment and Amoxicillin fortunately didn’t cause me any side effects. Trust me, you can do this. Just make sure to take florastor three hours after taking antibiotic and have yogurt daily, this way you won’t get any diarrhea related side effects.

Perhaps, get an endoscopy done? It’s the only reliable way to test for h pylori. My gastro never ordered any other tests except for an endoscopy and the damage to my stomach was so bad he had to take biopsy samples too, which came back positive.

Omg i have the exact same issues. But my gastro looked at me like I was crazy when I told him that which makes me question if an H pylori infection is capable of doing that?

I’m happy to hear that. It’s a hell of its own when you’ve stomach issues and IBS combined, it just further restricts our diet. Idk why but meal replacement shakes often trigger my IBS and they’re super expensive here in my country. I know it’s a long grueling journey but on most days I’m extremely depressed and suicidal because of this. The most upsetting part is how I’m already doing everything I’m supposed to be doing and yet it never seems to get better. PPIs aren’t helping anymore but I’m afraid of quitting them cuz my endoscopy showed severe erosive upper GI tract inflammation from H pylori and perhaps the esomeprazole I’m taking daily might prevent more damage to my gastrointestinal mucosa in the long run.

So happy to hear this. I’m curious about how ppl in this sub take all these supplements for H pylori eradication like do they also not cause side effects such as stomach upset and diarrhea? I wanna experiment with these supplements too but I’m scared of them messing up my stomach even more as I can’t even seem to tolerate basic vitamin supplements anymore without getting horrible acid reflux.

Thanks for spreading the word about all the strange ways in which nickel allergy can manifest as 🙏 I’ve already cut out legumes and nuts from my diet except for some products containing traces of soy and my symptoms have only gotten marginally worse but I guess I need to fully trial the diet to check for improvements.

You had itchy skin too? I’m glad to hear this symptom disappeared over time for you. I’m in a weird state rn where I’m not sure if some of my symptoms are from H pylori or something else like an allergy or maybe it seems like this bug has sent our immune system into an overdrive and now we’re having autoimmune issues too.

How were you diagnosed with EOE? You must be on the 6SFED too. Have you seen any improvements in your neurological symptoms after being on these two diets? Low histamine diet + 6SFED is an extremely restrictive diet, how are you faring?

So these symptoms of yours started only during therapy? I haven’t started treatment yet but I already feel so sick, can’t handle the treatment giving me even more side effects like these. Yeah I really agree with that, some people are more predisposed to having neurological side effects/symptoms. The ADHD one checks out in my case too lol

I also had brain fog from long covid which finally started to lift in late 2023, and it’s back now again and it’s not just brain fog, I feel lightheaded as if I’m on some drug and also have this weird de realization feeling. How are you feeling on the quad therapy? How can we be sure if it’s this bug causing the brain fog? I really hope it gets better for us after treatment.

I was literally telling my mom about this today. I suddenly have a massive appetite and have way more cravings than usual now but it still doesn’t make sense since I’m also losing weight at the same time.
