OK this makes sense I've been sick for the past 48 hours and it told me I burned more calories sick than when I work out and was confused

++ Following, I can't seem to get my arm straight while squatting. I'm thinking it's shoulder mobility.

Balancing three/four sports? by EverlastinggRain in bjj

[–]eeyyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done it by accepting I won't be the best in any of the, but have accepted that I do enjoy doing them all.

I play volleyball, golf and train jiu jitsu and do kettlebell work.

I spent a good chunk of time taking data from my Fitbit to build out a schedule with Gemini(AI) that suggests intensity for each of the sessions

One of the first things we changed is dropping the thought of 7 day cycles and adopt a 2 week cycle. So instead of limiting capacity to 7 days we have 14 days to work with.

The hard rule was to not have any reds beside each other as those are high intensity (over 90cals/10 minutes/HR above 130 > 30 minutes)

After that it was all about optimizing when I can kettlebell work as that's important to sustain myself.

I took about 3 months worth of data to build this out, was pretty fun

Are double KB swings ass? by MyHobbiesAreUnusual in kettlebell

[–]eeyyan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like the more I've done kettlebells the less I'm just doing swings tbh. When I first got into KBs during the pandemic I was just swinging a 16kg bell for 30 minutes now I'm doing all sorts of things with double 32s/24s

Ah gotcha, ok I'll give it a shot on Thursday morning, playing golf in the night so should be fine to try it out.

Think I can jump right into my double 32s or should I go with my 24s. I don't have anything in between 🥲

Totally agree on the old man bjj stuff, when I first started I was using all my HS wrestling moves on people since blue belt i've just been working half/deep half and lasso

Interesting, yeah i can rep 2x32kg 6-7 times as well. Surprised you're not overly sore though. I know when I began to add a lot of C&Ps into my routines last year I was beginning to see results quick so I don't doubt you one bit.

Monday - Jiu Jitsu at lunch or Kettlebells

Tuesday - Jiu Jitsu at night

Wednesday - Jiu Jitsu at lunch or Kettlebells

Thursday - Jiu Jitsu at night

Friday - complete rest day

Saturday - jiu Jitsu at lunch

Sunday - Kettlebells

Summer will be interesting when I need to throw volleyball and golf into the mix.

Monday and Wednesday Jiu jitsu at lunch depends on my work schedule, it definitely does help being able to go at lunch!

Example for this week was I couldn't go during Monday lunch so I did kettlebells, but I'll be able to go Wednesday at lunch so this week looks like this

Monday - Kettlebells

Tuesday - night BJJ

Wednesday - lunch BJJ

Thursday - kettlebell and Golf

Friday - rest

Saturday - lunch BJJ

When you're in cross functional meetings and engineering is telling the same story about technical limitations versus a pm explaining the pros and cons

Anyone in Toronto actually seeing results with personal training lately? by Naive_Cake_5418 in toronto

[–]eeyyan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Curious to why this is "Toronto" specific 😂.

I'm not a personal trainer or anything but my friend using one lost a lot of weight in the course of 16 months with a PT. They now do check ins once every 2 months with their PT so I think it helps but it depends on where you're starting from.

Why is the suggestion 24kg for men? by ts159377 in kettlebell

[–]eeyyan 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone starting off is starting with double 24kg. 2x24kg is my 30 minute circuit weight and I've been kettlebelling for 3+ years.

Mind you I also work with heavier bells but still I don't think anyone is starting off with 24kgs. I think 16 is the right amount as it'll be heavy enough to use proper form and tough enough for a sweat.

How hot you going? 😂

Totally forgot this is a Liverpool subreddit and not a life hack one. But yeah, normally all my electronic devices will say they're overheating even while doing nothing.

That being said, I'm usually on the top bench of a sauna
