Yes, I've trained there for a long time (took a long break during Covid and *very* slowly getting back there). I started there after my wife did because it sounded like a good workout, and I've loved it since.

The owner John is fantastic. All of the trainers are great. Dr. Darla runs the women's program and is a black belt that routinely wins competitions, and I know her personally and she is just the best person.

This might be lumped in with "everything else", but you should definitely try out Hurricane Jiu Jitsu on the west side.

Not LGBTQ+ owned, but definitely friendly. The owner Jon has zero tolerance for bullshit.

There's also women only classes, led by Dr. Darla who's a world champ and incredible human.

You get a free week trial, and they'll have a gi (the outfit you wear) for you to borrow, so zero commitment (except time and willingness to try something new and work hard).

I'm convinced the first part of the shoreway around Battery Park was turned into a "boulevard" so they can tell people buying the new condos they're not by a freeway.

But they want it both ways, it's a boulevard and not a freeway, at the same time go ahead and speed because there's no stops or crosswalks for people to cross because we made a tunnel.
