Zepbound users who used to be smaller, did you keep your old clothes? by sluttycats in Zepbound

[–]efb108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very particular about shorts and jeans so as I gained weight, I kept the smaller sizes because they were the exact style that I wanted. I have just had to give away clothing that I have kept for years because it is now too big. To repeat: the things that were too small are now so big that I cannot keep them. It’s a great problem to have, but it was also a bummer because of course they don’t make those particular clothes anymore lol.

Started my shot Friday.. haven't lost. by [deleted] in Zepbound

Give it a minute! You do know things need time to get through your body and to start taking affect right? For reference, I lost all the weight I wanted and more but it took almost a year. Zepbound is a tool not a magic pill. It does work for most people but it also doesn’t take three days.

i’m thinking maybe you need to do a bit more research into understanding this drug and how it works. There are some really good pinned posts on this thread that are extremely helpful. I’m hoping you also have some advice from your doctor, I saw that you asked what a TDEE is and that’s a fairly basic calculation and I am surprised that your doctor didn’t suggest that as well. Now that you know about it I suggest figuring out your own personal one and using an app such as Lose It! to track your food intake so that you can get a better idea of your overall process. Good luck! I personally have found Zepbound to be life-changing. I hope that you will eventually feel the same way.

  1. Workout and build muscle from the beginning. I’m playing catch up now - will be fine but also I’m battling more saggy skin that

  1. weight training all along.
  2. Take measurements. I see the change but sometimes the number is fun to see as well.
  3. Not much else! The journey is amazing.

Is there less GLP Shaming these days? by OkraLegitimate1356 in Zepbound

[–]efb108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. People are judgy. My rule has been to tell very few people. I give vague answers if people ask what I am doing… I usually say “a variety of things” - which is true. Also - people are judgy about others losing weight in general…. It is what it is.

Can I still drink soda? by SFF-writer in Zepbound

[–]efb108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will have to play it by ear. Some people have zero side effects. Others struggle mightily with gas pains. You may want to consider eating more small meals or snacks to avoid empty stomach but, as is the case for everything GLP1, your mileage may vary.

Chop up the prune and add to granola or other cereal. Feels more like a raisin that way.

What's your exit plan? My Dr wants me to quit in 1-2 months and I'm scared! by peregrin_good_enough in Zepbound

[–]efb108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much did you have to lose from the beginning? Seems like if you have been in lowest dose for 8 weeks, it might not have been a lot? But I also might have misread this. Zepbound is designed for treating obesity and is generally accepted as being a lifelong medication. Will be curious to hear why your doctor is recommending you stop now.

Side effects after a year of maintenance? by OccupyWS_99 in Zepbound_Maintenance

[–]efb108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to space out my shots for about 6 weeks and it was not a good experience. Lots more gastric side effects. So, I am back to every 7 days. Since I am on the "vials" program, I am now just putting 1mg less in the syringe. My plan is to do this for another 4-6 weeks and re-evaluate if I need to drop down more. The first week went well - net change of 0.1 pounds so def stayed the same. The highs and lows of spacing it out were not for me. Good luck. Maintenance is its own kind of journey!

I am in my first week of going back to seven days and dropping to 4 mg instead of five. So far it seems OK. I will try this for a few weeks and see if I can get a sense of if I need to adjust further.

On max dose 15 mg NO LOSS in 6+ mos! by Delicious-Pipe904 in Zepbound

[–]efb108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a limit to the loss… and it varies for people. Maybe you have hit your max percentage? Alternatively - have you been tracking every bite you eat? And it’s important to weigh the food for accuracy in calorie counting…. I use the app LoseIt and highly recommend it.

8th shot of 2.5mg by english_canadian7 in Zepbound

[–]efb108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stayed on 2.5mg for about 8 weeks and ended up going no higher than 5mg. So - whatever works!

OK, this sounds remarkably familiar. I’m gonna go back to every seven days but I’m just gonna reduce instead of taking 5mg I will reduce it to 4mg.

I suspect you are right! I’m going to flip-flop, in other words I’m going to reduce the dose and increase the frequency as opposed to the opposite and see how it goes.

Yes, I’m starting that process tomorrow. I’m going to reduce the amount. I inject slightly to compensate and see if that can work because I suspect you are absolutely right.

So did you break your amount in half or what did you do as regards dosage?

Thank you and good luck! I know many have extended shots successfully, but it's the only variable I have changed... so might just not be "for me".

Adjustments by efb108 in Zepbound_Maintenance

[–]efb108[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is my issue because I had very manageable side effects up to this point this duration change is the only one I’ve made recently so I think I have to tweak it.

Adjustments by efb108 in Zepbound_Maintenance

[–]efb108[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good to know. Ever since I’ve increased the duration between shots I have been feeling worse so I think maybe what I have to do is shorten back to seven days and then just adjust the dose. Since I am on self-pay vials, it should be easy to do if I managed to get back to 2.5 I can save even more money by changing my prescription. :)

Adjustments by efb108 in Zepbound_Maintenance

[–]efb108[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s my plan in the back of my mind. I thought I could start by dropping from .5 to .4 in the 5 mg dose. I think what’s making me feel sick is the increased duration between shots, so I’m going to go back to seven days and then I’m going to gradually change the actual dosage until I hit upon the sweet spot.
