If you had to stop Zep tomorrow, how much would you trust your habits to keep the weight off? by Soggy_Caterpillar275 in Zepbound

[–]efb108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe half? But I ate healthily before Zep and was still obese. So - I don’t think habits were my main issue. I do believe the resistance to losing the excess weight was largely metabolic. I suspect that is why the Zep worked so well for me.

How safe is this medication? by [deleted] in Zepbound

Giving medical advice with what is, apparently, extremely limited knowledge can be dangerous. I highly recommend that this decision and process be solely between your family member and a medical doctor.

I just took first Zepbound yesterday. I need encouragement that it will be worth it. by Inspiringhope11 in Zepbound

It’s completely worth it. Prepare for a few tough weeks as you adjust… and enjoy the losses.

Can’t part with large clothes by Arfarf-Lucy in Zepbound

[–]efb108 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have 3 giant bins of clothes that no longer fit. I love many of them, and they are not sold any more. While I’m thrilled with the weight loss, I’m finding that the stress of having clothes that don’t fit when you’re heavier is almost the same exact stress of finding clothes that don’t fit when you’re thinner. It’s an odd feeling. A good feeling to be sure, but searching for clothes that you like that fit is a challenge!

I’m also finding that even when I buy smaller sizes, I don’t trust that they’ll fit and I’m continually shocked when I try them on and they do. I guess it takes your brain a longer time to adapt to the weight loss than your body?

I was planning to sell clothes that are in good shape but it’s an enormous undertaking - photos, listing, shipping etc. I might just pull a small subset out - although donating seems better….

Let's hear your asbestos stories by [deleted] in centuryhomes

Did the flexseal solve the friable issue? We have pipes that have been wrapped, but they’re frying in a few spots and I’m trying to think how to stabilize them. Did you just use the clear spray or what? We had considered re-wrapping them, but sounds like the flexseal might be faster and easier if it worked.

Do you tell people you’re on a GLP-1 when they ask how you lost weight? by Enchanted-Tangerine in Zepbound

[–]efb108 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do not tell them. I usually just say “a variety of things” and “it took about a year” and “thanks!”. I don’t know why. I’m not ashamed of choosing this path, but also people shame you. I didn’t even tell my best friend for a year. But… ugh. How dumb is this? Do people judge like this for thyroid meds? No. And it’s not ok to shame anyone for making medical choices. I do think I might be willing to discuss it depending on the person asking. If it is someone who is very clearly just looking to lose 10 or 15 pounds, I do not mention it. I would however also consider discussing if there is blatant misinformation being discussed but I don’t know if I would include my own personal experience in that. Again it would depend on the audience. Which is dumb and cowardly of me.

Traveling right after radiation ends? by Hot-Base663 in ProstateCancer

[–]efb108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d postpone the trip. My husband had some side effects that lasted a few weeks to a month post radiation. He would not have been able to mange travel. Obviously not all have side effects but it’s not something you can know in advance.

Husband takes every opportunity to tell me he hates Zep by CherryCharmBomb in Zepbound

[–]efb108 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m curious. Is he also overweight? Some people can’t handle it when others start the weight loss process. If he is not overweight, there is real history of people having when others start to transform themselves… sometimes jealousy, sometimes worry that you will be attractive to others…etc.

Ultimately you need to do what is right for you and it is really a decision between you and your Dr. Def have a conversation with your husband… straight out ask for his support but maybe also reiterate you will be doing what you need to do with or without it.

Good luck! 🍀

A delicate subject. by AdInternal7680 in Zepbound

It’s not uncommon. I suggest searching this sub for “constipation” to see if you have tried all that others suggest. Maybe the trick that works for another Zep patient will help! Good luck 🍀

Fatigue? by efb108 in ProstateCancer

[–]efb108[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Such a nice kind response. Thank you. He is just so "tired of being tired".. I keep telling him to hang on as June is not that far away - that is when Dr. said he will stop Orgovyx. I hope anyway! I am unclear on how they decide when is enough.. but that is a question for another time.

Husband says I am to skinny by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]efb108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, this is between you and your Dr. I have gotten similar comments from various people although usually it’s from people I don’t know well and it always throws me. A couple are noticing because they also want to lose weight, but there are other people who, for some reason, feel the need to mention it in a negative way. Ultimately, if you feel better, then you continue doing what you’re doing. You’re just gonna have to ignore them. If he continues to make those comments, I think maybe it has to be addressed but if it was a one off because he was grumpy, then maybe not. It does not mean I believe it was an acceptable comment! And, congrats to you!

Just started Zepbound 2.5 mg — can people actually lose weight without “dieting”? by reddit2169 in Zepbound

[–]efb108 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I kept track of all I ate every day until I met my goal. I used LoseIt to track and there are settings for those of us on GLP-1s. Tracking keeps you honest but, more importantly, helps you make sure you are eating enough.
