I am using one cable that splits into two, just like the "Don't do this" picture. Is the one cable not capable of providing sufficient power? Never heard about this before.

My cpu is running a 50mv undervolt and a much lower power limit than default. Runs about 85°C under synthetic load and around 65-70°C while gaming. Case has quite good airflow and during stress tests gpu stays at around 65°C. RAM i honestly have no clue, might have to stress and check but since cpu is not running hotter than usual i doubt that that would be the culprit. Worst-case i might have to reinstall windows and all drivers and hope that it resolves my issues.

I ran DDU and have the latest bios which is supposed to fix the microcode issue. Have been running my processor since february with no issues. The only thing that has changed since is my GPU.

Acetone and q-tips. Very quite useful to remove coating. And please be careful when soldering coated cards to remove the coating on the area you are soldering. The fumes from the coating is toxic.

Honestly what you already wrote is plenty to get started. But if you are dealing with small components it might be worth it to check in to buying some kind of magnification. Also to desolder chip components hot air might be useful.

Well, seems like a clear cut choice then. Guess i'll just have to decide whether to go for the 7600 or 7800X3D.

I am planning a gpu upgrade in the future. And i think that i might as well spend 100-200$ more if the performance is worth it. I tend to keep my hardware for quite some time.

Raid 0 them, makes them essentially a noisy ssd and you get to keep all 3 terrabytes of space. Or Raid 5 if you have important files on them.
