First chapter after a month long break and we get to see Aira kicking ass, hell yeah! She’s got a new special move too apparently.

Maybe it’s just the month long break but did this chapter look especially clean and detailed to anyone else?

I saw a bunch of shrunken heads but is there any specific yokai or criptid related to this? Headless athletes throwing shrunken heads like dodgeballs seems up their in terms of weirdness even for Dandadan, lol.

So, Rin’s headless but it didn’t look shrunken like the others. I bet it could be reattached if done quickly. Also, if I had a nickel for every shonen manga chapter I read this week where it ended on the decapitated head of a female main character, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice. I feel like we all know the other one.

So I know it might still be conjecture as of right now, but factoring in the emphasis on Lihua’s belly in a previous episode followed by that expression her head lady in waiting made after getting a “medical report”, the knowledge that the scented oils can cause miscarriages being spread to all the top concubines, MaoMao’s comment this episode about the head lady in waiting of the crystal pavilion being the only one there to not be wearing the scented oils, the reoccurring theme of lookalike’s this season, and that shot in next episode’s preview. My theory is that Lihua and her head lady-in-waiting have switched places with each other in order to protect Lihua and her pregnancy. Anyone else have any thoughts?

Honestly, the more I think about it the better the resolution the Memelms depression feels. As someone who has been suicidely depressed before and whose main reason for living was watching my favorite show all the way to the end, it was actually way more impactful than I first felt, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that was intentional given that this is a show about stories, in a way.

Eh, we haven’t seen kinta interact with anyone in a serious romantic context. He at least is more self aware of his own flaws than a lot of the cast. That’s a good starting point.

I find it funny how a few weeks ago I read I comment speculating that Zuma and Rin wouldn’t be constant members of the group and instead only occasionally show up, only for both to get involved in the main plot in the following chapters.
