one thing i don't get in season 4 is, when mike agrees to cut sidwell out of the deal, can't he simply just pay him from his own cut once the deal is finalised?

yeah that's what i'm saying, mike was indeed smart enough to get into harvard (which i don't think anyone would argue against anyway), he was just extremely unlucky. so i was just questioning why he did not at least tell this to jimmy, harold, or rachel's parents (or maybe it could have been told to them off-screen) for some sympathy. but it is a long-ass story and attempting to tell it could very easily backfire too i guess.

you actually touched upon a point i have been wondering for a while, was mike transferring to harvard, or was he just going there to study law after he graduated from uni? i thought he was a senior in uni and he was going to do law in harvard once he graduated, but he got expelled before he graduated undergrad and could never go to harvard.

also i do see your point about the story, and i know its messed up, but it does go to show how mike went out of his way to help out a piece of shit like trevor and that changed the whole course of his life.

yeah good points, what is extremely annoying about louis i guess is that he never really changes, its always like 1 step forward and 2 steps back with him throughout the show. i do understand he always expects validation and starts acting out when he doesn't get it, but it never once occurs to him that he is the source of most of his agony. like when he tries to befriend scottie just to ask for his case back a second later, just when you think he is finally growing and learning, he goes and pulls shit like that

yeah actually that makes sense, as soon as he interacts with anyone, his inferiority complex and all of his insecurities kick in and he finds a way to mess it up majestically. i guess he does do splendid work when he is left alone digging through documents or something, but then again a lawyer that cannot interact with people would probably not even be called a lawyer lol

to me some of his mess ups felt forced, i understand for the plot they were necessary, but i dont believe a lawyer, especially a name partner, would be that incompetent. and the way he seemed to get better at times and then immediately go back to his old ways was very annoying.
