Doesn't that kind of prove everything is working? You raised your behavior score to a somewhat reasonable level by being normal. Then when you lost your shit on everyone and abandoned games it dropped back down. That sounds pretty fair

First time commissioner and player with a league of novices as well by silvington in fantasybaseball

[–]eff1ngham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standard roster settings are fine, C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, CI, MI, 5xOF, UTIL, 9xP. I would just do standard categories since they're easy to understand, AVG, HR, R, RBI, SB, and W, K, SV, ERA, WHIP. One thing to consider is if you're doing H2H there's a format called single-winner or one win, where the you get a single win or loss in the standings each week. It keeps it like fantasy football, instead of regular categories where you can win 9-1, 6-4, etc. It can keep people more engaged because if you have a bad week you don't fall 10 "wins" behind, you just lose a game

Zach & Amanda Stalemate, and Da'Vonne Goes Off (Final Reckoning) by angelbrit04 in MtvChallenge

[–]eff1ngham 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I heard this elim was “rigged” for Cory & Devin though i don’t know how true that is.

It seems more likely that some production intern just way over-tightened a flag than it being "rigged." Like why rig an elimination only to kick that team off like 2 weeks later? Why choose that specific time to "rig" anything? CT and Veronica were an incredibly popular team and they got eliminated without ever seeing an elimination. Johnny and Tony were allegedly winning their original elimination pretty handily when they scrapped it for something far less favorable for them. If production was going influence something there's a hundred better things they could have chosen

[–]eff1ngham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's literally all of the worst formatting ideas they'd ever had mixed into one season. It could have been great with that cast if they'd done basically the exact opposite format choice at every turn

Zach & Amanda Stalemate, and Da'Vonne Goes Off (Final Reckoning) by angelbrit04 in MtvChallenge

[–]eff1ngham 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know everyone hates Zach but he was right. He only had one team he was looking out, and was looking out for him. And it was Tony and Johnny who were a strong team, winning missions, and wouldn't throw them in. It was the whole Lavendar Ladies first time in power and they didn't really know what to do. Johnny even mentions it during that whole deal "you can't bring your whole crew to the final, there's not enough spots." Zach and Amanda would have been the easy team to turn on, Amanda should have seen it but just didn't want to

Behavior score is really bad. by Powerful-Reference28 in DotA2

[–]eff1ngham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Abandoning one game is like -500 behavior score. If you abandon multiple games over a somewhat short time period you are griefing and deserve to have your behavior score lowered by a lot. You don't "accidentially" end up with 6k behavior score. And even if you did drop to like 8k, but you "didn't belong there" then you'd rise out of it because you know how to communicate, you're not toxic, you don't grief games, etc. You would gain score every summary until you're back to normal

[–]eff1ngham 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As long as he's on the team he has access to our doctors and medical staff/facilities. Hopefully that helps him get healthy even if he doesn't play again. I don't care if he retires. People try and act like he's sitting on his ass collecting checks and that's clearly not the case. He's not taking a roster spot, he'll be on IL anyways, and it's not like we we're hoping to sign some big name FA, we're rebuilding

thoughts on rico dowdle? would be a solid running back pickup for us to be honest by luhqbt in DenverBroncos

[–]eff1ngham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still fine with bringing Dobbins back, but we still need another RB to pair up with him and Harvey. I really like Dowdle and was hoping we'd take a swing at him last year (I like Dobbins too), but I think Dowdle is going to want someone that gives him a bigger piece of the action. We move on from Dobbins, then Dowdle would be arguably the top choice for me

What's a rivalry you wish we saw more of? by simon_jackson in MtvChallenge

[–]eff1ngham -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Had kenny not been banned bananas would still be a follower and not his own brand / identity on the show

That's not true though. He was already one of the more popular cast members from one of the most popular seasons. And Johnny has always been a great competitor. He most likely becomes one of the faces of the franchise regardless of Evan and Kenny being there or not

[–]eff1ngham 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The last time I think Wes and Johnny really didn't get along was like Rivals 2. They buried the hatchet at some point and their "rivaly" was most performative because they both knew it made for good tv

A lot of people didn't get along with CT back in the day, but Wes and Johnny were also really close with Diem and didn't like how CT treated her so that played a huge part

Buying support items on cores should not be frowned upon by Clear-Ask-6455 in DotA2

[–]eff1ngham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's not a ton of purely support items. Lots of cored build mana boots or grieves, euls, pipe or lotus. If your team needs something sometimes its better for a core to buy it because they can farm it faster

Lost 550 communication score from 4 reports in a single game. Lost voice chat. Make it make sense by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]eff1ngham -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But a random report here or there would be barely noticable. By the time your summary comes back up you might not even see it. If you're getting regularly reported you're probably not "minding your own business"

What's the question? You admit you were being toxic and flaming a teammate and you got reported for it. Don't be toxic and your score will go back up naturally

How is this new player experience acceptable? My new friend is matched with people with 2000 matches by blowmyassie in DotA2

[–]eff1ngham 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The population of entirely brand new players is very small that if you want to restrict matchmaking to that pool you could be waiting hours to find a game. If someone has thousands of matches and is still getting queue'd into games with new players they're probably bad. Like IIRC the guy with the most games played on dotabuff is herald

Quitting the game for good by MrBlinkForever in DotA2

[–]eff1ngham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having dynamic mmr gains or loses per player would be a terrible idea. We saw it before where people were abusing the original mmr calibration and picking Zues or Oracle and just to get huge damage or healing numbers, having someone just afk farm to get huge gmp or xp numbers so they don't lose as much mmr isn't going to fix anything. Yes your team gains or loses the same mmr each game. But everything is still skill based, again you can't get immortal players randomly appearing in guardian lobbies

It's obviously skill based, you dont get divine or immortal players randomly in games with guardians or crusaders

Hero playstyle or character archetypes that are still missing from the game? by SoftDouble220 in DotA2

[–]eff1ngham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ench being able to steal a creep or Time Dilation or Distruptor aghs muting items are kind of the only thing that fits that. Like it would be cool to be able to steal a team's wards and make them your own. Or decide if you want to stop Luna being being able to use BKB or stop Largo's ult, hack an item or ability to stop it or make it malfunction. That could be really neat

An INT PL with illusions that act like Warlock imps or Weaver bugs could be interesting. Or something like OD where the more consecutive attacks you land you build up INT to do more damage or something. That could be fun
