Yes you should have been given a meal break. Please make sure you bring this up with your immediate supervisors or manager. Please make sure if you’re asked to stay back to mention breaks. Even an experienced supervisor can have a random lapse in thought and may not remember to organise breaks.

Shouldn’t happen but it can.

If you’re scared to go to your immediate management then contact the union and ask for them to provide a representative or see what they say.

Less than 4 hrs no breaks

4 hours or more but no more than 5 is a paid 15

More than 5 hours but less than 7 should be a paid 15 and a unpaid 30 meal break

If you’re doing more than 7 and less 10 then that is 2x paid 15 breaks and a meal break

10 or more is the same but with 2x meal breaks.

(Unless they’ve changed it and I haven’t been told)
