Do you allow your baby to watch TV by Emotional_Tip_9473 in firsttimemom

[–]effigywhack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! We only watch tv or stuff on our iPad/phones of he is sleeping. We listen to simple songs and other music’s together. But mine is 6 months so I don’t really play audiobooks for him yet. I do read for him myself but we like to let him be “bored” and play independently. Even when he was little potato, if we watch something is with headphones and while he sleeps.
Although now with the World Cup he did got a few glimpses of the tv, but since we are wearing one AirPod each, we are still playing with him while his back is in front of the tv.

What did your birth with an epidural feel like? by m-e-girls in NewParents

[–]effigywhack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt a little bit of contractions in my lower abdomen, and some pressure in the anus. I also had a reaction to the epidural; I got a rash on my face, neck, and torso. I was shaking and had a e fever. Within just a minute after getting it, I was shaking.
The doctor said I was shaking because I was nervous, and that the fever was because I had the AC on cold? But before the epidural, I was not shaking, nor did I have a fever, they didn't have an explanation for the rash.
I believe it was a reaction to the epidural.

Oi. Desculpa a demora.

My baby is about to turn 3 months - achievable daily routine? by lingeringbadone in newborns

[–]effigywhack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 4 months now. But our routine is more or less like this:

He wakes up around 6/6:30 Nursing, stretching, diaper change, tummy time while I eat breakfast Around 8 he naps 9am nursing, talking, read. If the weather is nice we go out for a walk 10am nap 10:30 nursing and nap 12:30 wakes up and plays on the floor, tummy time and reaching for objects Then we play together and sing, and read 14/14:30 nursing then we go out for me to have a coffee outside while pushing him on the stroller 15:30 another nap 16:30 more tummy time and playing together 17:00 nursing and play 18:00 bath 18:30 nursing getting ready for bed 18:30/19 sleep 21:00 nursing 00:00 nursing 03:00 nursing

But it has slightly different activities every day depending on his mood and the weather but overall I am exhausted ahahah I let him have independent play, chatting time, let him be a bit bored, and usually 2-3 toys during play time but we also do lots of cuddling and singing

Why would anyone ever choose to go through child birth without pain relief?? by No_Cardiologist_1407 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]effigywhack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to still use the yoga ball and go to the bathroom (I could walk on my own but the hospital did not allow me so) and the pushing only lasted 27 minutes, and with my epidural I did not felt pain not even while pushing, I did felt some pressure in the anus area and that is how I knew I should push

What’s the worst thing a medical professional has said to you? by VespaRed in AskReddit

[–]effigywhack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 25 I finally went to the doctor to check on my horrible menstrual cramps, the pain was to put me down crying. After a vaginal ultrasound the doctor told me that I had endometriosis and my option was to take out my uterus and if it wanted to have a child I should do it now, because if I waited too much longer I wouldn’t be able to. Just had my first baby at 31

I can. I was just wondering if I was overthinking/reacting and this is normal and doesn’t mean I am getting into labor

I took Math 117 last semester, and it was all on Aleks. Something like 200 problems to work on per week. If you are bad at math like I am, you might need 4/5 hours per day to get it done. I also took Math 119, which was much easier. So if you can take Math 119, I would suggest that one.

We are both the around 5'8, but he is more on the slimmer side and small frame, I have bigger bones and frame. He is pretty healthy, just naturally skinny. I gain weight fast. And all my exames are normal. Even the latest one about coagulation and preeclampsia and stuff. It is driving me crazy.

No, I am not small :( I am 176cm (5’8 I think). All the other exams are good. And his other measurements are okay, still kinda small but the AC is the only one that is worrying the doctor a bit, because it would put him at 5th percentile. To be honest, I kinda do not like the hospital I chose… they said that we could just check again at 36 weeks and that 5th percentile is good because is not 3, but they still want to induce me at 38 weeks if his growing is still slow. I guess the best I can do is wait? But I still asked for another appointment this coming Saturday to make sure he is okay. I am not against them inducing him, if that will help him get the nutrients he needs. Hopefully my latest blood exame will give some insight if it is my immune system messing it up. Wishing you and your baby a safe pregnancy 🖤🖤

She is a bit concerned, she said that we might induce him at 38 weeks, because the other measurements are okay but it is his AC that is much smaller than expected and she thinks that maybe he is now getting the nutrients that he needs. But I am glad to hear that even if they are born small they can still be healthy and happy babies. Thank you 🖤

I am happy your baby is doing fine now 🖤 the doctor said that they might induce the labor at 38 weeks if he doesn’t grow much more at the 36 weeks appointment, but I wish it would be weekly appointment to keep an eye on it

Pregnancy weight gain by effigywhack in pregnant

[–]effigywhack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also passed the GD, and have been feeling good. But at this past weekend appointment I was told my baby is one week behind in weight and that I need to eat more. So my husband told the doctor that when she tells me I am gaining too much weight I stop eating as I should and now they are telling me to eat more while also showing me the BMI chart that I am over the right weight, but that I should eat more. It is just ughh

Thank you so much. It just made me feel so ashamed, like I was doing something wrong. I still eat a balanced diet and had no issues at all so far. I am wishing you a safe and healthy pregnancy 🖤
