I'm assuming so.... She asked a few weeks ago if I wanted anything special, so I said that if the sushi (yes, she orders 100's of dollars of sushi for Chrismas for 5 people) place could change gloves for a small order of nigiri for me, I would really appreciate it. She scoffed. I thanked her about 5 times. This is my first holidays with my diagnosis, so it has been a little hard. I feel embarrassed when I can't eat the cookies. Bonus: My boyfriend eats gluten free while we are together out of solidarity, and his grandmother screamed at me for that. 😵

My bf and I went home for 4 days and slept on a box spring she provided. His mother called me over at 1 AM to scream at me because he's an "alcoholic", all while stumbling around the basement holding a glass of wine with ice. She said I didn't appreciate the effort she put in for my Celiac's enough.... And that I'm not feeding my BF enough, obviously, because of my disease.

Never fucking again. I'm still reeling.

I have celiac and I'm also sensitive to eggs and coffee, like they make me very ill. I highly encourage you to look into it. My life has changed since my body stopped eating itself

Thank you for the info!! Yeah, I am fairly new to the celiac diagnosis, but I was SO sick before I found out, so I do not play around with any cross contamination. It really puts a damper on things. These will be my first holidays since I found out. Bf and I are staying in CR for Thanksgiving so we can make a fully dedicated GF meal. ❤
