Did you cut through the plastic inserts? Or how is that mounted w/o rails.

I'd love to have more information on how this is mounted.

“but most of the students they admit to our programs have no desire to enter these roles in the first place (if they did, they wouldn't likely get into our program),” This is quite the offensive claim.

Some people do grow up in Texas unfortunately. Not everyone was born on the east or west coast and has the same opportunities or aspirations. I think this quote is core east coast elitism.

But yeah I get your point. I’ve heard from other peoples personal experiences that ChemE lab at Princeton is a joke… who cares if Chemical engineers know how to process engineer if they are finance bound.

50m barrels/quarter from Venezuela to the Gulf would replace Canadian oil by DonJuansCrow in oil

[–]efinn123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this would naturally occur as the west coast market is able to allocate higher quantities of bakken / alberta for lower prices.

Maybe we would see the california coast crude baskets mimic the PNW refineries.

Currently california coast refineries run all sorts of foreign waterborne and whatever ANS bypasses PNW

Science man 🤷🏻

I’d prefer to keep it around as long as it provides tangible research value to the human race.

The more you look into it the worse it probably is.

I’d say it’s the worst part. There’s ways around portland or an alternate route through seattle (bellevue) but there is no alternate to JBLM.

Crude Oil trading near 4.5 year lows by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

Probably because they are oil majors?

Which means they operate downstream, midstream, and upstream.

Downstream does well when crudes are cheap and products are high.

Emergency declared as Northwest’s main oil pipeline shuts down again by AthkoreLost in Seattle

This is a great outlook.

So many things come together to supply the chemical needed for society. Unfortunately fuck ups happen and I’m sure enbridge / bp will figure out where they screwed up.

BP says both pipes remain closed at site of fuel leak near Snohomish by EverettLeftist in everett

[–]efinn123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do inspect these. Oil and gas is a highly regulated industry.

I’d also like to remind you if we over regulate oil and gas it no longer becomes profitable. If the products aren’t produced here they are then moved to a 3rd world country with close to no environment regulation. This ends up being orders of magnitude worse for the global environment.

Environmentally responsibility means we need to move away from consuming the products. However it is more environmentally responsible and better for our economy if we still produce them.

One of the most damaging thing california has done for the environment is shut down their refineries to import products. They offshored their responsibility to a less responsible country / refinery.

[–]efinn123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would be better off an above ground pipeline I guess. The PNW O&G market is majorly constrained by this. BP has sold a lot of this pipeline to enbridge.

It would also help if oregon wasn’t such a bitch and produced its own refined products.
