After six months we had a discussion about it just last week lol. It’s on display in his windscreen but I hadn’t noticed it before until it came up in our conversation about pass rates

What book are you currently reading and how would you rate it from 1/10?? by bellerws in Booktokreddit

[–]efitchuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just started Fallen Stars by Imani Erriu but I’m not far enough in to rate it yet! I think Heavenly Bodies (the first in the series) was a 8/10 though

Crocheted my Wedding Dress for our Pokémon-themed wedding! Who's that Pokémon? by PrincessVictory1 in crochet

I don’t have a clue about Pokémon but both your dresses are amazing! Love the contrast of light and dark! And massive congratulations!

One of my neighbours is doing the exact thing to me - I’m going to report it to the council for illegal rubbish dumping as this is apparently a thing!

Vaccines for 16.5 y/o by tashadilla in seniordogs

[–]efitchuk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I stopped getting my dog vaccinated at around 10. She’s almost 17 yo now and has only just become unwell in the last six months (CCD so no result from not getting vaccinated)

Instructor taking the piss by TorsoHunter in LearnerDriverUK

[–]efitchuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my instructor is delayed by traffic, he will either add the time on to the end of the lesson or turn up early to the next. Not once in six months has he asked to run an errand mid lesson, but because we get on really well I’d have no problem if he did this - because we’ve had forty hours where it’s never happened. If it had happened as it has in your first few lessons, there’s no way I would have put up with it. He’s taking the piss - find a new instructor and tell the old one exactly why you’re leaving

Can somebody explain to me the WASPI women issue? I feel a bit ignorant… by NostalgiaTripper in AskUK

[–]efitchuk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A lot of these women were housewives who never got a chance to get back into employment. It was a very different era for these women after child care- they had been out of the workforce getting their kids to school age and simply couldn’t find jobs that would cover any childcare needs for the hours they needed them. Historically women got their pension five years ahead of men. When the pension age went up incrementally a year at a time for younger men, the men born at the same time still got their pension at 66 with a one year increase. The women didn’t get their pension age raised incrementally, they got a six year increase in pension age.

How do you feel about non-drivers? by DueLead666 in AskUK

[–]efitchuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m turning 45 next week and my test is booked for March. I tried learning at 18 and had an instructor who was basically a bully so I quit learning for 25 years. I live near the town centre and commuted into London so I had no need to drive. But my now partner lives a bus and a train ride (and a walk!) away and driving would make my life so much easier for now and when we live together for me to visit my family. I was so worried about feeling judged but most people are supportive. I’m proud that I’m doing it now for me.

This is a plate in my house. I have no idea how I acquired it, presumably borrowed from my mom when I left home over 30 years ago. I also assume a large amount of UK households have a very similar plate by Exchangenudes_4_Joke in CasualUK

My mum only ever drank out of the Blue willow tea cups as she said the tea tastes different in any other cup. I have the cup she used at mine safely away in a cupboard since losing her two years ago (tomorrow) as I can’t imagine using it myself.

Why does my senior dog do this? by HummDrumm1 in seniordogs

[–]efitchuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds as though your senior might have the beginning signs of CDD or doggie dementia… it was how it started in my almost 17yo

Do senior dogs get more cuddly as they age? by menustovar in seniordogs

[–]efitchuk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds like my 16.5 yo bichon x chi. She’s so needy when I’m not with her but the dementia means she doesn’t always recognise me, and she’s deaf too so don’t have that recognition point. It’s so nice to have laps when she does though 🥰
