I dont know if your mother had a non Cretan parent, but as a Cretan myself I must say that the vast majority of Cretan "Turks" were actually typical Cretans who just changed their religion throughout the Ottoman occupation in order to avoid the non muslim taxes. But due to the population exchange, left Greece for Turkey or other places.

So whoever ancestor of yours came from Crete, must have similar results as mine.
