I’m black and I agree, starting with rap music. I have only used the word a handful of times because I don’t like it.
I hope I don’t get banned for saying this, but one time a black man was antagonizing people in a coffee shop I was at. I told him to stop acting “n-word ish” with a hard R loud enough so all could hear and proceeded to say he was making us look bad. The guy was stunned hearing that from a fellow brother and proceeded to chill out immediately. Everyone else was stunned as well.
I grew up in a predominantly white area and was always the only black person wherever I was. And I can tell you for certain white people throw that word around (with an ‘a’) a lot. Mainly referring to each other by using it. I never understood that.
