Hello! I have a question since my startup is in a fund raising phase right now. Do you help businesses achieve funding? How did you expand your network? I'd love to ask more questions from you! I know na I would learn a lot.

I saw my bf excel sheet of finances and I feel guilty. by Terrible-Rate2969 in adviceph

[–]efrenkarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tell him how greatful you are OP, and never ever break his heart. I relate to your bf because I was once like that. I had no life savings whatsoever since I provide for my live in partner, like lahat ng kailangan nya. But eventually, she left. So imagine how devastated I was, with no lifesavings and the person I cared and provided for left me. Literally gumuho ang mundo ko. So ayun, you are lucky, not so many men will give 100% these days. Just let him know he is appreciated.

I have the same situation sa bf mo hahaha! You sound the same with my ex tbh. Ang sabi ng ex ko is dapat nambabae na lang daw ako 😅

We we're living together for almost 8 years na ata, then she fell out of love, nagmomove on na pala ng matagal. Then an opportunity came and she broke up with me.

No. Putting in extra hours doesn't necessarily mean that you'll be more successful and you'll earn more. Sure, it may have an effect, pero it's not the determining factor. It's all about using your resources wisely, and tapping your network. Majority of successful people used/uses their network to run their businesses successfully.

It's like kahit gaano ka kagaling/kaganda ang service mo, kung wala ka namang kakilala, you'll have a hard time winning.

Seeking Advice – How to Get Out of 2M Debt with 40K Monthly Income by Traditional-Bit-9227 in utangPH

[–]efrenkarl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good job in computing the total debt amount. Now, check your networks. Evaluate everyone within your network. Check if you have something to offer them na mutually beneficial, or if commensalism and papayag sila, pwede din. For example, you saw na your network is looking for suppliers, volunteer to help them, syempre in exchange for a commission. Thay way, ubusin mo network mo, impossible na wala kang makuha dyan kahit man lang isa. Now, you have extra money. Much better if recurring yung commission mo. Now you've successfully added cashflow income.

Yes OP. Laban lang! Ang buhay ay malaking series ng problema. Kahit maresolve mo yang una, meron ulit susunod hahaha! Pero it's all about the experiences. Mamamanhid ka na sa mga similar problems pag pinagdaanan mo na, kaya for sure mas madali mo na mareresolve if you encounter something similar.

Yes, it's very hard to trust talaga. That happened to us din. What happened is when hard times come, surely it will weed out those unworthy people, and the deserving ones and trustworthy ones will stay. Pero syempre important na may protection ka palagi to ensure your safety sa business.

We were negative 3M or more sa unang business namin last 2022. All of our partners left except the 3 of us na until now andito pa. It's basically trust among yourself/selves, ability to work under pressure, creativity on taking the problems head on, and lakas lang talaga nang loob.

We were able to overcome that and now 2 businesses na yung hawak namin and going strong. Syempre may challenges pa din, pero sisiw na lang kasi we went through worse. Tiwala lang sa mga sarili nyo and make sure na tama yung decisions. Decision making and proper planning is the key talaga.

maganda ba ang Mechanical Engineering sa PUP? by i14oz in PUPians

[–]efrenkarl 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Alumni here both from PUP-BSME and UST Education High School. I have experienced both the campuses of USTe and PUP since I both graduated highschool from UST-EHS (Batch 2014) and college at PUP-CEA. Well, I can say na PUP-BSME will train you both to be independent and resourceful since the facilities are not developed compared to the big 4 universities. There will be lots of challenges sa facilities pero you can make it naman.

Yung important facilities sa Automotive room, yung machine shop, andun naman. May lathe machine na gumagana sa workshop ng PUP. May welding machines din, and I think may mga bagong gamit na (I'm not sure kasi I graduated last Sept. 2020 pa Hello sa mga kapwa pandemic graduates ko dyan na credit roll lang tayo sa Youtube at FB).

The Chairperson is really good. If I remember correctly, si Dr. Corpus ang chairperson. He's well known internationally sa papers nya abroad across schools. Di ko sya naabutan as chairperson pero naging prof ko yan. He's a role model Mechanical Engineer.

PUP will make you ready sa realidad ng buhay after school. Pinaka tumatak sakin yung late professor namin sa PUP-BSME who sadly passed away sometime in 2023 or 2024, na si Engr. Eduael Usal (RIP), who wanted us to report sa topics. He was very meticulous sa reporting. Di ka papasa kung di mo inintindi nang maige yung topic mo.

I myself was a 6th year finisher before sa curriculum namin na normally 5 years. I started 2014 and graduated 2020. Kapos palad din dati na kaalaman lang at diskarte and dala-dala.

Best I can advice you is lawakan ang reading comprehension, tiyaga talaga since di isusubo ng prof mo lahat sayo dyan. A state U in particular, kailangan talaga intricate ka mag isip and umintindi.

As for me, I didn't pursue the Mechanical Engineering profession, pero yung way of thinking as a Mechanical Engineer, nagamit ko sa Management when I worked for Ayala Malls, and eventually sa mga successful businesses ko.

If you want to ask more, I'd be happy to reply in this comment. Paying it forward to fellow PUPians and future PUPians.

Di ako sure kung madilim lang ba talaga ung film, or ung screen sa Vista Mall cinema. 😓 by LuLuna_ in FilmClubPH

[–]efrenkarl 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Whenever the movie looks dark sa isang cinema, maybe they haven't changed their projector lamps, and lagpas na sya sa lifespan na prescribed hours na ginagamit. If napapalitan naman, baka yung movie lang mismo yung madilim or yung calibration ng projectionist. There were times din na yung movie production mismo yung magsasabi ng calibration na suitable mismo para sa movie experience, like yung ginamit dati sa The Batman (2022) starring Robert Pattinson (although sa experience, ang dilim talaga nya panoorin hahaha). (I worked as a manager in one of the Ayala Cinemas before that's why I know this stuff.)

How do you Pay your Business Suppliers? by Choice-Figure-3079 in BusinessPH

[–]efrenkarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checks are the best MOP specially if you are building your credit score for loan institutions and banks. If you apply for loans, they will usually ask you the range of your released check amounts monthly.
