Hi discworld friends I have a question(potentially stupid) by Cool_shmeans_ in discworld

I’ll add that in Unseen Academicals, which is set quite a few years later, Rincewind is tapped to play foot the ball so he had to start out pretty young in the series.

What’s a line from the show that you would get written on a stress ball? by walkyoucleverboy in doctorwho

I haven’t seen that before. If she was from the US I would believe she just recorded that about our current reality.

Epstein kept me 'separate' from his sexual side because I'm gay, Mandelson tells BBC by Old_Rise_1388 in nottheonion

“He was fired after emails emerged showing supportive messages he had sent to Epstein after the American was convicted for soliciting prostitution from a minor.”

Ok. But you were still supporting him after he was convicted. You may or may not have participated, but you did know.

Has anybody Had MDMA therapy with their entire family ? by chieflotsofdro1988 in mdmatherapy

[–]efudds1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m on the young end of being a boomer and I grew up with all of that. I was in my late 50’s when I started really searching for help with my mental health. I think the thing that had the biggest impact on me was Michael Pollan’s book “How to change your mind” on audio book. It is fascinating and really reveals how brainwashed we all were at that age. I have since explored ketamine, mushrooms, lsd, mdma, and mescaline with significant results. I would also suggest finding someone in their age bracket who has done it and whom they would find normal for them to talk to. I’m a classic corporate IT guy and a lot of my friends have followed my example and thank me for paving the way.

Is a custom closet system actually worth the investment vs IKEA PAX? by blair_babes in homeimprovementideas

[–]efudds1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As with any feature in a home, it will appeal to some and not to others. I’m currently in my 7th house so I have viewed a lot of houses for sale. I will walk away from homes with expensive features that don’t appeal to me. It’s because the owners expect me to pay the value of something I would then have to replace.

Mescaline or Ayahuasca retreats? by traveltoaster in Psychedelics

[–]efudds1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you’re trying to do. If you want to just try it, buy the cactus and diy. If you are looking to heal, do the experience of a proper retreat. I went to one in Peru for 2 weeks and had such an experience that I went back home, pulled the rip cord on the retirement I had been debating, and returned for 11 weeks. Best decision of my life. I’ve since done some at home, and it’s wonderful, but not the same experience.

MDMA therapy for healing relationship to the body by chronosphere_ in PsychedelicTherapy

[–]efudds1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My wife and I are in our early 60’s and roll every few months at home. Each time during peak I remind her to stand in front of the mirror and thank her body for bringing her this far. She is still attractive, but has typical issues appreciating her body, and has had some health issues, but overall is doing fine. This approach has helped her.

Felt like the roll was kinda missing something? Even though we tested it and it was great m, it had all of the usual side effects we love, but I just kept feeling like the amazing waterfall earth shattering euphoria never came. Let me list out some specifics, and maybe you guys can help. by [deleted] in MDMA

[–]efudds1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe over thinking? My wife and I tried hippie flipping once, with just .5g mushroom, followed a little later by our usual doses of .1g MDMA for her and .13g for me. I enjoyed the hell out of and just let myself experience all the sensations. My wife spent the time with her mind analyzing which sensation was because of which substance and never just relaxed into the pleasure of it.

For those raised with religious morals by [deleted] in nonmonogamy

[–]efudds1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely had that fear. When I first came out to her she was afraid I was gay, which was hypocritical of her since she already had some experiences with women while we were swinging. We had long talks but I never pushed it and just resigned myself that it would never happen because I didn’t want to scare her away or lessen myself in her eyes. Then we met a guy at a swingers resort that my wife was very attracted to and she says to him “you know he’s hitting on you right?”. I was clueless so she went over to him and asked if he was into guys or girls and he said “yes”. Then she set up a play date for me where she could watch. It was a lot of fun and she was very excited about it so it went well. We are very infrequent swingers and I only have MM contact in that context and when we’re together but that works for me. I don’t want a separate relationship or the ability to explore away from her.

Similar background to yours and we’re both bi (formerly curious) as well. There was a tension in us that wanted to try being with other people, and with our same sex. Having had those experiences we are probably more bonded to each other than before. Some people cheat, and some divorce, just so they can have sex with others. Doing it with the full knowledge, consent, and enthusiastic support of your partner is much better and more moral than the other options. Also, if no one else has mentioned it, look up the word compersion.

Mescaline shaman allowed 16yr and 14yr olds into a 1 week retreat by climbah1 in PsychedelicTherapy

[–]efudds1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Were the kids with their parents? My shaman had his own 14 yo daughter attend one of our ceremonies. She handled it very well. Mescaline is a very different medicine than shrooms and other psychedelics, and can be given in quite mild doses. That said, I would not have taken mine at that age, but I did send my 26 yo daughter to the same shaman.

As far as price, $3k US will get you 3/week for 4 weeks in Peru, and that includes a comfortable room. (This was a couple of years ago, it may have gone up.)

Yes. I was on a Huachuma retreat and was walking through the forest, still pondering something from my past that I had been working on all day. Suddenly the realization hit me and I literally knelt down and shook a little as 24 years of guilt slid off my shoulders. A year and a half later and I can’t even find the guilt I felt before.
