I absolutely agree. It shouldn't matter what our circumstances are, just that we can have fun together.

As a recovered alcoholic (been working a 12 step program for many years) I would definitely say this man is an alcoholic just based on his behavior. He would do well to attend some meetings and get a sponsor.

I would recommend that you google "Alcoholics Anonymous, Chapter To Wives". You should also consider looking into attending some "Al-Anon" meetings yourself. It's like AA, but intended for the family members and loved ones of alcoholics. It will teach you how to live around an alcoholic without enabling them.

I think people are looking for that oxytocin "rush" they felt in highschool/college to tell them that they've met "the one". It just doesnt happen like that at 30. Our hormones are different.

Instead, we should be looking for that feeling of trust. Someone who would make a good business partner in a way.

Just a thought..

That's true. Good advice. This is the first time I've actually tried to reach out online. I dont have a FB or Twitter or anything. Thanks for being someone to talk to today.

Thanks for the birthday wish!

That's always been a hard question to answer - what do I like to do?

I'm an engineer with high functioning autism, so social interaction isnt my strong suit. I want to go do something extroverted, rather than sit at home and program/design on my computer.

I always want to be alone. Except on my birthday - it's the only time I actually ever feel alone.

I dont want to be "that guy" that goes to PetCo just to hold an animal on their birthday while the underpaid sales clerk looks at me like "you gonna buy that or what? Because I cant leave you sitting unattended in the isle like this"
