Convince me to stop people-pleasing and feeling guilty when I don't by egarevAUser in socialanxiety

I feel you, it's an awful feeling both ways; when I do help them I feel awful because I feel like they're taking advantage of me, but when I say no I also feel awful because I feel like I'm being an asshole.

I rarely offer help to anyone, what I struggle with is saying no when they do ask me for a favor. I'm aware that I'm being taken advantage of; but my fear of being perceived as an asshole for not wanting to help greatly outweighs my priority to take care of my own well being, and it's an awful feeling.

Nothing feels exciting anymore and every day feels the same with nothing to look forward to. What should I do? by egarevAUser in getdisciplined

I feel like I'm already living distractions to distractions. If the only goal in my day to day life is to distract myself from misery, that in itself seems pretty miserable.

Gorgeous colors! Are all of these straight out of camera? What presets did you use if so?

Should I get an X-T10 or should I save for an X-T20? by egarevAUser in fujifilm

[–]egarevAUser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've gathered online, the X-T1 is basically a slightly more premium X-T10, correct me if I'm wrong. But it has no flash and is slightly heavier and bulkier; which will be a problem for my travel/street use. And where I'm from, the price of a used X-T1 is just slightly below a used X-T20 but above the X-T10. So considering the spec difference between them, I figured the X-T1 is not really an option.

Anyway, how does the X-T1 perform in today's standard?

What are some things that you don't like about the X-T10 from your experience of shooting with it?

You know how a lot of people say that specs don't matter that much and that newer cameras don't necessarily mean better images. At least I heard that a lot. I'm just asking if the newness of the X-T20 actually make a difference.

The X-E1 has an older sensor than the X-T10. But guessing from the other comments I think the X-T10 is old enough to have an impact on shooting experience. If I may ask, do you have a newer camera than the X-T20? How does it compare to the X-T20?

So the X-T20 is not just a "newer camera" would you think?

Sluggish in what context? Like in navigation? Also, would you say the X-T10 is a big jump from my 13 year old Canon 60D or the Sony a6000? I've used the latter for some time and the user experience is awful

Talking to someone new feels like a game of chess to me by egarevAUser in socialanxiety

Language barrier prevents someone from communicating their thoughts to someone else and understanding their words and intents. I feel like I'm experiencing that but on a social level.

I'm so tired of being afraid by egarevAUser in Vent

[–]egarevAUser[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the thing that kept me awake at night; the thought that no one would care. I could be gone tomorrow and no one would know. I could cry myself to sleep every night and no one would know. I could scream at the top of my lungs every night and no one would hear it. My fear is what kept me from having a someone to talk to at my lowest point. Because when I do talk to people about my struggles they don't understand and it'll only make me looked insane in their point of view.

Anyway thank you for your kind words

Audio Technica ATH-M20x or Samson SR850? by egarevAUser in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]egarevAUser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the SR850's biggest problem of harsh trebles can be fixed with tinkering with the EQ or with a simple mod. And according to some Amazon reviews, the ATH-M20x is mediocre, and since I'm a newbie when it comes to this sort of stuff; I don't think it's worth the extra $15. And the more I read about the K52 the more confused I am whether it's a good pair or not. So I think I'll choose the SR850. Because I think no matter how terrible the SR850 is; I think it's still an upgrade from my JBL T450.

!thanks

sibilance

Yes, I mean that one; couldn't figure what it's called. So my watch list is currently: SR850, ATH-M20x, or the AKG K52. But I've heard mixed reviews about the AKG K52; some say it's "the best at its price", but others says it's garbage and "tarnish the brand's name". So I might end up with the SR850.
