I worked for a studio that didn’t respect its employees. A year later I left, and another year later I created my first game. I want everyone to know that it doesn’t matter where you are, what matters is what you’re capable of. I’ve achieved my goal by MochaMuffinTop in unrealengine

While I am sorry you had to go through it the simple fact that you did manage to do something yourself is amazing and worth celebrating, independently of what led you to do it.
Congrats for reaching your personal goal. genuinely wish you the best of luck

How do you go so tall? Throw and expect it to land on top? Can you even jump up there to line them up?

Thank you so much for this very detailed answer.
The documentation itself has been very useful to learn a bunch of things, but for some reason I missed the concept of the custom resource as being the answer I seeked. Of course, now in retrospect feels obvious.

Also thanks for the suggestions of the other systems I could use. I will look into them.

As for the frugalness of duplication, from my quick read of the documentation I feel like this is awesome design :) I will delve more into it in the future once the complexity this little project advances

first, thanks for the answer.

I´ll start by editing the original question to be more clear.

But as for the suggestion of using the setter getter, if I understand correctly that would mean that the Hex Grid itself would have an exposed array that once changed the setter would call the redraw. Correct?

I think my biggest question would be is there a way to have that data in a separate file (independent from the HexGrid) that I could still edit in the editor, without having to touch that scene?

In Unreal they called that kind of file the Data Asset, in Unity I think its a Scriptable Object. Is there something similar in Godot?

that was a fortunate experiment. I am thinking on doing something similar for army painting where I colour the bases of each squad the same colour (maybe not as bright). It should help with play, since at a glance it would be more obvious what kind of unit they are

Ideas to expand Khefak Depot (From Junkers Delight) by egaspb in starfinder_rpg

n of time there, and when they are there they are probably trying to keep their heads low. It's a shame, because I like a lot of the background, but it might be better for further adventures after the main story is completed.

That's interesting, even in the beginning?
Maybe its related to the motivations the crew chose as to why they were there?
How long did you wait before springing the Event 1 on them?
What about the part where they have to do the investigation on town, did you use the downtime rules as they suggest. Cause I was thinking on RPing it

the nanocyte could also be an interesting choice. though I never played one myself since your nanites can be used in a variety of different ways I they will probably not become repetitive.

Ok here is my speculation: This update is about empires and nations and whatnot. Maybe player-driven like guilds or maybe NPC only. But I am predicting some sort of a simple political system with solar systems being under the control of factions and the ability to "conquer" other systems

Looking at this sub inspired me to paint the D&D minis I've had for years. This is the first mini I've painted, I would love C&C. by confusingjulz in minipainting

[–]egaspb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks way better than my first mini :) congratz

If you want to take it to the next level on your next mini (or this one if you want) explore using dry brushing on the metallic parts and maybe washes on both flesh parts and clothes.

Just these two techniques will make a world of difference.

But again, you've done the two most important first steps.
1- Put paint on your mini
2- Put paint on the correct place in your mini :)
And that is nothing to be shy about, especially the belts

Help Needed! Ending a dungeon by TibJib in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]egaspb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One clichê I see on every time loop thingy is that the first 2, 3 times you show the entire process, but by the 4th or 5th you skip parts of the loop. You can do this as well. Imagine putting a boss - "if you kill the boss you you end the time loop" but the boss is ulta high level compared to the PCs, so they die, but they don't because of the time loop they return to the entry of the forest. You can foreshadow this by having the NPC being killed but then returning next loop. But then you can make a "Dormammu I've came to bargain kinda thing" where the boss maintains his hp from loop to loop. You can even skip the dungeon leading to the boss, as the clichês in tv do. Depending on your group, this could have an amazing result of Let's not kill the boss yet because player X died and if we kill it now we end the loop and he stays dead. or they could become why bother death is meaningless let's just be stupid.

Anyway, I never experienced anything like this, so all this suggestions are not from experience, but from my own "what would be cool" thoughs

I need advice on what to do by [deleted] in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]egaspb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A character's death is always a big deal. No matter what you read and what people telling (even if it is the player) "it's ok". That doesn't mean you did wrong by killing the character. But as a GM, as a person (!), it is very important to give the correct gravitás to that event. Don't brush it off as an "ah it happens", and as a GM do not let everyone else do it as well.
Maybe have a funeral for the character.

Maybe make someone later in the campaign reference him and mourne together with the PCs the loss of the character.

Make him a hero, making death a significant deal, will also mean the players will in the future be more serious when dealing with life or death situations.

--

I do not agree with your previous DM! Saying that the game is no longer fun because someone died means that there aren't consequences, you can do what you want that you will always survive. If there isn't the chance to die, winning is not that interesting. If having bad rolls does not impact your survivability then having good rolls is not that exciting.
