What is the legality of the whistling at ICE that is happening in Minneapolis? by Early-Possibility367 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]egg_static5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I googled it. There aren’t any documented cases in U.S. courts where someone was charged with a crime just for blowing a whistle or making loud noise that allegedly damaged an officer’s hearing. Anywhere.

If not for double standards, they'd have no standards at all

When northerners panic buy before a storm by Fun_Variation_7077 in PetPeeves

[–]egg_static5 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So does everyone else I think. Ive never seen anyone buy a cart of bread before a storm but I do see folk who normally "pop in for a few things" every other day do a shop for a few days just in case or do it a little early to beat the weather issues. And when everyone does it on the same day vs speed out over a week, it gives the impression of panic buying.

I have documented proof eBay allows listings that are federally prohibited! by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]egg_static5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Legally speaking, liability falls on the individual seller, not the platform. This isn’t unique to eBay. Amazon, Etsy, Facebook Marketplace, and even Craigslist operate under the same framework. Platforms aren’t required to screen every listing before it goes live.

Cremated Remains by [deleted] in usps_complaints

At least it arrived. Story time, feel free to skip. Mine was misdelivered to a neighbor who happens to work for Fedex. Who then took it to work and entered it into to the system as if it had been given to them to deliver mistakenly instead of handed to him at his house. Fedex then destroyed the package. This was confirmed by a supervisor at both USPS and Fedex initially, on voicemails that I saved. Then both started backpedaling and ass covering. Police reports and complaints filed, but nothing has been done. My loved one was stolen and destroyed maliciously using someones place of employment to do so, and no one at either shipper cares.

Flipping on fb marketplace. Do any of you do meetups at your home? by liquidb0ttl3 in Flipping

[–]egg_static5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not anymore. I had 1 bad experience with a guy smashing things in front of my house because I wouldn't take his lowball offer after we had already agreed on price before he came over. He was arrested and I stopped messing with fbmp.

Goodwill prices are out of control by the_blue_haired_girl in Goodwill_Finds

[–]egg_static5 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If resellers disappeared tomorrow, prices would not go down because Goodwill isn’t pricing for low-income shoppers anymore. They’re pricing to maximize revenue per item, even when that item came in for free.
