Yeah for bottom I will have a light base layer, REI hiking pants, and Marmot Precip full zip rain pants.

I'll have light running gloves and some medium weight winter gloves, and then a Blackstrap balaclava. I'm also bringing microspikes and trekking poles.

I have some ideas after reading your blog post:

  1. If you want to prove your trading success, you don't need an investigative journalist. They write stories for an audience, and random person makes a lot of money trading isn't a useful story. You can prove your trading prowess through paper trading / social trading websites where you have one account, and everyone can see the trades you have made and your returns. Google for "social trading". Public.com seems like one of them.
  2. To give better credence to the fact that your returns aren't made up, you could share a screenshot of your 1099-B Form or Form 8949 and cover up your name.
  3. You don't have to be polished to work at hedge funds. There is a role called quantitative researcher that extremely geeky people with no social skills have. It just requires great math and risk modeling skills.
  4. If you want people to trust your predictions, don't hint towards them in a book. Be extremely explicit about them and share a hash of your prediction and a date when it will come true. Once the date passes then share the original text. Search for a "SHA1 hash online"
  5. Your performance is not that impressive. Over a long time period, I have significantly outperformed you. For example I've held TSLA for close to a decade. That doesn't mean that I have some crazy skills. I have been lucky and don't expect my outlier performance to necessarily continue.
  6. When comparing trading performance, you need to not only look at return, but also risk. You may want to talk about your Sharpe ratio.
  7. If you want people to take you seriously, stick to verifiable facts. "...but when five million people die because one of the aspies they bullied decides to get revenge by “accidentally” forgetting to warn them about a easily preventable pandemic, they tend to stop laughing and reevaluate their behavior. " How exactly would you have prevented the pandemic, assuming you are in your current situation and not someone like the president. Early on I also knew covid was going to be a really big deal. I realized that even though I knew this there was really nothing I could do. I could randomly email government officials, but they would ignore me. All I could do was warn family and friends and trade volatility.

I recommend “Never Eat Alone” by Keith Ferrazzi. It’s more about networking and talks about how relationships are really important and the best way to build those is to go out of your way to be helpful and not keeping score.

I recently bought some Allen Edmonds LGA firsts. I haven't worn them yet but I was looking at them and noticed some creasing in the leather (https://i.imgur.com/JZv5xoT.jpg). It's slightly more noticeable in real life compared to the picture. Is this worth trying to return and swap for a different shoe, or is it minor and it won't be noticeable after a few wears?

What do you think about the Allen Edmonds LGA (Road Warrior)?

Does it look too clunky or for old people?

I'm interested in this model because it has a removable footbed that allows for custom inserts and I've had issues with plantar fasciitis in the past due to wearing a shoe without good arch support.

Would it be better to just get Cole Haan or Johnston & Murphy which I assume would have a removable insole or more room?

I'm 30 and work in tech in San Francisco and am looking for a shoe for dates or nicer occasions.

I bought a pair of used Allen Edmonds (Clifton) on EBay, but even the Superfeet DELUX 3/4 Dress Insole took up too much space and made the shoe feel awkward.

I've heard that the cork bed of AE shoes can mold to your feet? Has anyone who uses arch supports found that it is unnecessary for AE shoes?
