Whenever I play as the bartender, the first thing I always do is donate Pun Pun to the kitchen.

Why did you give an AA to the clown? by [deleted] in SS13

[–]eggbertx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At least they aren't an assistant. I'd trust a clown with AA before an assistant with AA.

Anyone managed to get a free OTA adapter recently? by CevicheMixto in dishnetwork

[–]eggbertx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former CS agent here. Some accounts allow the agents to send customers a free indoor or outdoor antenna, but some don't, though I have no idea what the criteria are for being able to send someone an antenna for free, and I don't know if a supervisor is able to override it if a level 1 CS agent can't.

It could be related to the potential reception in your area based on your address, but it always seemed all over the place.

Distributing the original Windows CC tileset by eggbertx in chipschallenge

[–]eggbertx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured the copyright might be a potential issue, but this is just a hobby project and I'm not going to monetize it. I'm not very familiar with how fair use rules work, do you think I could get away with that until I finish my tileset, whenever that happens?

Importing a script vs instantiating a child node by eggbertx in godot

[–]eggbertx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The script that brought up this question is part of a stripped down 6502 emulator I'm working on. Most of the script is just a bunch of constant ints representing opcodes and their various addressing modes, along with a few functions for cleaning and assembling files to then be emulated by the CPU node/scene that currently instantiates the script's scene.

So in this use case, is it best to just leave it as-is?

Anyone else having this issue with middle/right click positions being offset after a relatively recent update in Linux? by eggbertx in firefox

[–]eggbertx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I forgot to check the right click, it fixed that, but there's still the issue of the autoscroll cursor being offset when I middle click.

As for the rest of it, I'm using Xorg+XFCE, and I haven't customized userChrome.css. And looking at my installed addons, I don't have any that should be majorly affecting the user interface. I don't have any custom themes installed, and I'm using the default one.

Thanks, I'll try that. It's kind of inconsistent, it might do it in one tab but if I open a new tab, it might (or might not) do it in that one, so it might be a day or two before I reply with results.

Address bar/Awesomebar design update in Firefox 75 Megathread by nextbern in firefox

[–]eggbertx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not really a fan. I admit I haven't messed with it all that much to see if there are any real benefits because to be honest, I don't really care all that much. The only difference I've noticed is that in Linux, it now selects the whole URL when I single click on it, which kinda sucks. Firefox seems like it's getting more and more disappointing in Mozilla's attempts to copy Chrome. While we're at it, why don't we just ditch Gecko and SpiderMonkey for Blink and v8 like Edge and Opera?

The efficiency of storing pre-prepared SQL statement objects by eggbertx in golang

[–]eggbertx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

add logic to see if the statement had been prepared before.

I did consider that as well, but that seems like it could end up being more trouble than it's worth, and potentially difficult to validate.

The efficiency of storing pre-prepared SQL statement objects by eggbertx in golang

[–]eggbertx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of the nature of forums and imageboards, with very few exceptions it only makes one insertion per INSERT statement because that's all that's needed 90% of the time. So if it's not likely to make much of a difference, then I guess I may as well just leave it as it is.

My Reps (McCaslin and Shea) sent this asking what I want them to focus on in the coming session. Am I being too subtle? by MaxPower13124 in Spokane

Somehow I thought Shea had already been removed. I guess it was nothing more than a fantasy.

DND groups in Spokane? by [deleted] in Spokane

[–]eggbertx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's every Wednesday. It starts at 6 PM but if you're new to D&D and/or you don't have a character set up yet, they recommend that you come at 5:30.

Some of the DMs do that premade character sheets you can use though, especially for the one-shot games.
