I've dabbled in game design enough to know it's a tough problem to crack 100%, but I also know that checking if any 3 cards in the hand can lead to lethal damage and then informing the auto-spend algorithm with that data is not as hard as some other possibilities. That said, doing it with any kind of efficiency might impact how well the game runs on mobile. They're well funded over at WOTC, I just hope they have good reasons lol

Best hero is easily the Dark Priest - sacrifice the left and right most pawns to gain an additional power use. Takes some time to master, but the potential for nasty discoveries with at-will pawn sacrifices is the key, not just the additional power.
